Caraibe de Crăciun... în sfârșit! | Ep. 198

1. I dont get it most of the sailors I watch seem to believe a blue water boat needs to be at least 40' however your boat is only 31' and you have been across the Atlantic a number of times. What the Deal?

  2. Floating in space amidst the stars unneeded, with no control, and no function for the human aboard. This set the atmosphere for the rest of the video. Wonderful mood.

  3. A well earned beer there- Captain. That nighttime vlog was almost poetic with your description.
    Point A to Point B- 2 weeks sailing and 1,250 miles… I got this.
Not sure where you are in real time Kevin- may the journey continue for you and RA.

  4. Would love to have the confidence, and skills to sail this way, engineless is purist, and the navigation skills are how I want to sail, would love to see you tackle a circumnavigation, but realise that the Panama Canal wouldn't be possible with your outboard.
    Still love what you do.

  5. I've been watching your videos for a long while now .. made sure to watch these .. because I lived on St. Thomas for 4 years between 1975 – 1979 .. was a great adventure .. worked in the ER of the local Hospital .. among other things. One of my girlfriends was from Culebra .. she is always a good memory. If you ever get a chance to take a tour through the Puerto Rican rain forest .. you'll find that interesting! A lot has changed over the years. This video was a good seaman's view .. approaching the islands. Happy Sails!!

  6. Hey, you did it again! And nicely done at that. And you did well on the celestial too! I navigated that way for years, use to teach it in a planetarium. But would have to do some brushing up now. And what an amazing difference having all that weather info. When i was doing this trip all we had was a very very broad and sketchy voice on “ hi-seas radio”. Better than nothing. Now use apps like “Windy” all the time.

  7. A self imposed haircut is such a simple and satisfying thing! Although I respect the business proposition of having one’s haircut, I have discovered that doing it one’s self is so much more rewarding. I like to follow it up with an old school wet shave with a double edge safety razor for maximum refreshment. Your description of being becalmed at night resonates with me; Thank you for the reminder. It is the simple and and most obvious things that are so often lost in our society today. Hold fast. And fair winds with a following sea.

  8. I enjoyed your comment about being belcalmed in the dead of night, floating in space. I felt like I was there for just a moment.

  9. Nicely done. Not a bad pace especially considering the flat calms. Hope to get a little travelogue of Culebra, not an island you hear too much about.

  10. Your thoughts on the feeling of dead calm,at night, in the open ocean was quite insightful. Not having had the fortune to experience those conditions for myself, it has given me food for thought.

  11. Another great vid Kevin I plan to do a similar voyage December 2023
I hope my vids will meet your very creative and high standards
    Keep it going mate cheers

  12. When you said you have one last job to do I was getting nervous that the clippers were coming out again. Whats next? Legs?

  13. Fantastic content as always. Congratulations on the latest destination. Ruth Avery looked just beautiful under sail in the drone shot.

  14. thank you for the explanation of how you make use of the becalmed periods to appreciate your surroundings. I have apparently been too impatient when these circumstances present themselves. It does not. bother me when sailing slowly and enjoying the magic of such little breeze moving my vessel, but perhaps I have robbed myself of opportunities to enjoy nature more!

  15. Kevin I was so dissappointed ! I watched right to the end and missed out on seeing the maidens coming to meet Ruth Avery as she arrived 🙂
