Keep working. Good luck! 👍
What's the reason for the forward pointing bow?
Jim Jones, the former San Diego Chargers football coach and University of Hawaii football coach? Amazing.
Under sail is an old school term for under way.
There are no pre departure engine checks while at anchor or on mooring bouy those engines are ready to go 24/7 no matter it’s a small boat, guaranteed if they say 2 hours and you’re there 2 days some Kunu came out and cut you free they don’t Fk around over there
Look’s like it’s beached, hopefully not to much damage to it and the environment. 🇬🇧
Sounds like the owners of these vessels don't research the area's they intend to visit…
any news on flying fox
How is a non-docked vessel with AIS turned off not considered a shipping hazard?
You can see red fluid in the water. Isn't it their responsibility to check before anchoring. Good grief.
More likely hydraulique oil leaking from the boat in Maui ?
AXIOMA is for sale at Dunya yachts and it's support yacht My Bro has been completed and is available for charter in the Mediterranean, so clearly does not have a russian owner , well at least not on paper , all very odd
First yacht location is Capri, anchorage to the south of the island.
In the grand scheme of things, a little "film" of diesel is nothing.
In Putin's speech this week he stated his dislike of wealthy business owners sending there money offshore and spending on luxury yachts….so this may be the end of Russian luxury yachts, ????
Tides are not much help in Maui. a three foot tide is normal.
around 7:45 you can actually see the red stain on the water, supposedly the diesel fuel, but if you can actually see the color of the fuel, not just the refracted light because of the thin film on the water surface, I'd say that the amount wasn't that small, couple buckets at least would be my guess to make it look red in the water, though I'm not sure what constitutes "small amount" in this context
If there's enough diesel in the water to show that red color, that's many, many gallons. That's not a minor spill from the bilge. A diesel tank is clearly compromised, a real environmental disaster for this protected area. Chances are great that water is coming in, and diesel is going out. Only the rocks are keeping it from sinking. If that boat is fiberglass, then the keel is being slowly sawed in half by the wave action against the rocks. This happened to the Nordhavn "Ghost Rider" a few years ago. Stupid move on the captain's part to leave the helm unattended near a rocky lee shore. What the hell was he thinking?
Under sail or sale?
These other superyachts seem like dinghys near Scheherazade
The video shows the water being quite red. I'm no professional mariner but that doesn't look like a "small amount" of diesel to me.
According to the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), day-use moorings are limited to two hours. The department is still looking into the incident. #Maui Seriously who drives a boat this size into a protected bay????After efforts to remove the yacht during the Monday afternoon high tide failed, the U.S. Coast Guard “federalized” the boat on Tuesday, meaning it can’t be moved until all fuel, batteries and any other pollutants on board are taken off, DLNR said.
I’m so glad I’m not the Captain or Owner of that vessel!
If the next high tide isn't able to get them the relief they need they may need to wait it out until the next full moon on Mar. 7 which will bring a higher than normal tide
Can you put time stamps on the videos, please? Not bothered about the yotspot section and would like to skip it. 👍
I used to surf Honolua Bay weekly. If that yacht damaged the reef, that owner may VERY well dissapear if he doesn't leave Hawaii soon.
I remember when my yacht ran ashore, fortunately I didn’t have the EPA or Coast Guard breathing down my neck. WOW than I turned age seven and ended up getting into rocket 🚀 ships….
The Nakoa is apparently one of two yachts owned by Jim Jones, not directly but by his company Noelani Yacht Charters. It's based on Honolulu, and especially if he's been in business in the islands for any length time I don't believe for one moment he didn't know there was restricted anchorage in Honolua Bay. It's a famous surfing spot, which is one reason so many people are angry about this over and above the environmental damage. He must have known. I bet he just wanted to spend a couple of days there with his family – it was not chartered at the time, and if there was a regular captain other than the owner no one has mentioned he was aboard – and figured it would be easier to ask forgiveness than permission. And he'd have gotten away with it most likely, had he not screwed up.
I'm not confident the mooring line really snapped either. Can you imagine a charter boat with its lines in such poor condition that they'd part even when they're not being used in rough weather? Suppose something like this happened with guests on board. It would be a nightmare in the best of times.
So sad. To have so much. And be this stupid.
Well, Hawaiian authority has a new boat. Scramble for the money.
Sad
No way is that boat 28m. And booms aren't designed to work on a frothing shoreline. BP recommends chemical dispersants.
Thread Hijack:
MaryAnn over Ginger. (sorry but the "Skipper" thing flashed me back to my teen years.) and MaryAnn got me thru them.
( hijack over)
Those look like very nice CG renderings of Kensho – hence location unknown. I could scrutinize more but check out the upper aft deck. Some shots have poles on the corners others don’t.
11:07 Red is visible in the water on the land side of the boat
Two weeks ago I was moored next to Nakoa in Lahaina. We nicknamed the boat "Disco Bob" because they made a lot of noise late night and had a disco nite lighting scheme. BTW got pics. It is unfortunate that Maui has never prepared for this type of accident.
Marine diesel is blue, ag.diesel is red
i find it hard to listen to you, your speaking style has no fluidity please take lessons
Your still giving out the wrong information on MY Pacific X.Fed up sending you pictures since October 2022.Whoever your team is that goes through your messages need to raise their game…..MY Pacific X is displaying its full name as can be seen in the pics ive sent you on numerous occassions
may as well be private property. and i call bs on diesel spill, maybe a ittle residue.. funny no one complains when a jumbo jet dumps 100 thousand gallons of fuel over the same spot but one drop from a boat and everyone lines up to make a fortune off it. just throw a line, wait for high tide and yank it off the beach, no need to be all dramatic.
