  1. This is incorrect! Big producers (eg. big champagne maisons or in general any big player that still produces quality wine) will generally not tell you all on the label. Still their wine is probably quite good. It simply means that to supply their demand they need to buy some of the grapes. What you need to pay attention for is grape type, country, vineyards classification (is a premier cru, a grand cru, is it DOCG, etc.) and your general taste.
Do not buy super cheap stuff (yes, price up to a certain point matters) and focus on what you actually like. Wine is very subjective.

  2. Nonsense*
The greater the Italian wines I buy, the less and less it has on the label*
If its good enough, it sells itself *

  3. It’s true that the origin is important. If the label says it’s American I don’t buy it. Fortunately American wines aren’t sold in most of Canada.

  4. You don't have to pick wine! The biz is chock full of wine pros and enthusiasts who will steer you right 9 out of 10 times, whether in a restaurant or wine shop. Just figure out what you like and they'll do the rest. I can't believe this angst ridden snobbery deal is still a thing. Just ask!

  5. No. It gives you better indication of what the wine tastes like. Has very little to do with quality an even less to do with whether you'll like it (unless you spesifically know you like wines from that spesific region)

In general forget about drinking wines by what their "quality" is. Drink what you think tastes good. Peronally I've found anything from the regions surrounding Naples is good and stuff close to Rome is terrible – no matter the "quality".

Find what you like and Drink that.
