  1. Has any thought been given to the possible use of a heavy lift helicopter to assist in re-floating the stricken vessel ?

  2. Making ironclads for the Confederates, the Brits sold them a lot of small arms as well. With friends like that who needs enemies.

  3. Wow! Talk about bein' in very special company, M/Y Nahlin is right in there. I wonder if Dyson has replaced her props with something similar to his bladeless fan technology heh, heh. An absolutely outstanding specimen of a past time.
The saga of M/Y Nakoa seems to just refuse to reach a resolution. That Jones fella certainly hauled in his horns since his earlier statements, for a man with an interest in keeping good public relations his words and actions appear to draw negative reactions. When I first became aware that he "declined" to pay the costs related to the salvage of his boat it had the stench of "no insurance" all over it and his latest comments seem to buttress that theory.
M/Y Shackleton is a unique-lookin' vessel that, for once, the generic white colour compliments the design. John Risley is from here in Nova Scotia and is a co-founder of Clearwater Seafoods, among other businesses. That is one bizarre story about his credit card. I wonder if, since it was just a common Gold Card, it was used by somebody else (mistress/employee/kid). Maybe he's losin' some mental faculties? There's gotta be a reasonable explanation because this is the most bizarre, shady soundin' story I have ever heard in reference to him heh, heh. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Lots of little tidbits to digest in this episode and some of it is kinda odd heh, heh. Great job eSysman team, thank you!

  4. I would doubt any insurance policy would pay out of you were operating illegally which is sounds like he was despite his dodgy work around. Or if he was in an area he was not meant to be. As for his work around, so he has a crew but operates that yacht without a crew then recommends a crew who are of course completely different to his crew for the charter to use. Ah ha sure. And in regards to the Amex story, what I found most alarming was that they charge 30% interest. Surely THAT should be illegal.

  5. Mr Dyson shows he has class, with his choice of private yacht, unlike the glossy gin palaces that seem to be all the rage.

  6. I dread to think if something larger than this boat went aground, if they can’t cope with what is a relatively small vessel. 🇬🇧

  7. under Italian laws it would be the Billionaire who would take American Express to court 😂 because a 30% interest is considered loan sharking. So here he would win the case and he could also ask image damage for the dissemination of information on his behalf.

  8. The yacht owner refusing to own up means he's criminal and such people do not take responsibility and will have other crimes and things they will hide from you. Just watch them. Trump is the most blatant example of this phenomenon. Since 2016, every month another crime of his came to light. An inexhaustible plethora of crimes is what you will find with real criminals everywhere.

  9. John Risley made his money in Nova Scotia,Canada. He is or was one of the biggest seafood processors in Canada. He sold his company 12-24 months ago???,TO the INdians, billions $$$$$.His kids did not want to take over the empire,so he sold it.

  10. FYI The Queen Elizabeth actually sank in 1972 (not 1967) after catching fire when it was converted to a floating college called the Seawise University at the time. I was a child living in Hong Kong back then and my father was one of the helicopter pilots attending the scene having rushed away from a wedding we were attending! The wreck remained half submerged and appeared in a Bond film (The Man with the Golden Gun) a couple of years later.

  11. At least James Dyson has taste.
Modern yachts just don't do it for me. They all look alike (except the few hideous 'alternatives' ) – all styled after a quick glance at a soft serve ice-cream.

  12. I enjoy your channel and all of your videos. I'm just curious, why would they junk that Yacht in Maui?? I know youi showed us some of its damage, but since it hasn't sunk, it seems like it would be a candidate to simply repair it! If it's a Fiberglass hull, that makes it even easier. Just curious what you think?

  13. E Sysman, Sir I applaud your efforts & talent in the making of all your videos. Sir you always inject class into all videos + your extensive experiences. God Bless & take care, TMP from N.J.

  14. The Hawaiian government have allocated $460.000 for the salvage,it could be a fair bit less, and the boat drifted onto the shore so the damage does not look critical, as it happened at 5.30 am, perhaps everyone was asleep.
Mr Jones has had a number of problems it's all in the Hawaiian press

  15. USCG is very strict about passenger carrying vessels. Perhaps the "charter" ruse was an attempt to work around this.

  16. I get tired of this unforgiving world. People make mistakes. It sounds like this guy is going to own it and take care of the situation. I didn't hear anything about any spillage of fuel so most likely the eco damage if any will be minimal. I hope the people of Hawaii will forgive him and he can continue his yacht charter business. 😎🤙🛥🌊

  17. My dad served on the Hood. The only reason he wasn't on it when it went down was because the crews were swapped out with HMS Belfast. It was actually the Belfast crew that went down.

  18. Everyone is pissing shit on the boat owner, yes absolutely the owners are responsible for all salvage fees. However stop replaying stupid videos. Where you are getting wrong information from. YES THE OWNER OF NAKOA IS responsible for all salvage costs and the reef. However, United States Coast Guard has stated that the vessel NAKOA went aground outside of the marine reserves. Get your information straight and legitimate before you start blasting people and boats. Your in Europe, how can you have an accurate opinion of what's happening thousands of miles away from you. Leave Hawaii out of your BBS

  20. Funny how they recovered that yacht in the most inefficient and expensive way possible. Government is excellent at spending other people's money.

  21. OMG!!!! Risley!!! That F'en bastard!!! Pretty crazy HE comes up HERE!!!!! I live in Nova Scotia and I HATE the Risley
brothers! He and his brother Robert Risley came here to Eastern Canada in the 1970s. They started several businesses,
some of them with money from the Canadian and Nova Scotian governments. OUR tax dollars going into private business.
Supposedly to create jobs. Yeah, right. And it came out that the brothers have done a lot of tax dodging and moving the money offshore to tax havens. Like the Cayman Islands. Where I'm SURE his yacht is based. The fishery here is vital to the economy. The brothers worked to monopolize it. It used to be many operators, but Risley worked to make himself the major player. Squeezing out the independent boat owners and operators and making the fishery capital intensive.
All of this is bad enough, BUT he is a loud mouth with a real Fuck You attitude. Right wing, conservative and pro business.
He hates social democracy and says there are too many "welfare bums" in Canada. An arrogant asshole from the UK who pisses off a native Canadian like me. And his 350 million dollar yacht is another F U to Canada. And Nova Scotia.
There is not the sort of economy here that there is in central Canada. He makes himself rich and blows all that money on a yacht built outside Canada. When there are great boatyards here IN Nova Scotia. Arrogant asshole like Trump and Murdoch.

  22. Anyone with a credit card interest rate of 30% either has horrible credit or is just plain stupid.

I live in Hawaii on Oahu.
Jim Jones has a lot of explaining to do.
Our protected ocean and our Aina(land) is very sacred to the locals.
Most all are very forgiving, however Mr. Jones has really messed up.
Starting with the 2 night stay.
    That's a huge no no.

  23. There is an HMS Hood scuttled across the entrance of Weymouth harbour. Apparently it was as a torpedo blockade; the intention was to raise it after the war but it turned turtle as it went down and is still there, I have dived on it. At low tide the bottom of the hill is only about 1m below the surface.
