4. 12v starlink.. $100us per month.. and you have actual internet, instead of iridium go taking 45minutes to send a short text only to have the text not send most of the time..

6. Starlink RV seems to work. They also have a marine receiver, but that is 10x more expensive (but automatically adjusts the position, so works better).
   It was made for cars, but it works on boats when there are not too many waves.
   The receiver is about €450 , and 100p/m

7. Starlink is the way to go. Iridium is sooo outdated and super expensive.

8. I do not think Starlink covers the oceans like Iridium also the equippment antennas and such is way to big for my boat.

9. The loose end of the figure eight knot must be long enough because the knot will pull in the loose end under heavy load. (Experience of alpine climbing with falls).

15. Definitely don't buy anything technology wise until you are absolutely sure of your set off date and then buy it a month before.
    Starlink is improving it's coverage at an alarming rate, so please don't write it off now, as unlikely. When it comes to the day you're ready to buy, please check starlink too. It is a better technology.

16. The zeppelin bend is very tenacious and will take a lot of shaking without coming loose.

17. If you look at the YouTube channel “sail life” it’s a Danish guy who set off last year to circumnavigate. He’s made it from Denmark to Cape Verde so far and he is very happy with his starlink.

18. Contact Iridium , they may be convinced to be a sponsor and provide an Iridium unit for free or at a subsidized cost. Perhaps a "Go Fund Me" request could provide the funds you need.
