Cool
A base ball on the top of the crutch jaws to protect the sails
Brilliant
Are you running pure argon on your aluminum mig ? Wondering what is causing the soot
Love the song!
Awesome job, your channel has given me a lot of inspiration even though I am handicap. I can barely walk 🚶♀️ these days but I am building a generator house next to my work shop. I will send you pictures as I build it. Thank You for posting and for and sharing
Such a COOL SHIP! Need it, fab it on board! Loved the tunes too! Thanks for sharing you cool story Doug.
So i guess nobody on this boat loves Jesus Christ..Wonder why? Ok Good answers…Im done with this channel and its sad people.
The welds are looking great. I'm still at the 'a grinder and paint make me the welder I ain't' stage.
Cool music Doug. Nice work too! 👍👍
Nice work Doug. Hope you got food for the kids. Have a great week.
r u planning to see some big water instead of anchoring' in that toddlers bay?
have to say I really like your portable workbench.
Looking good Doug
Doug you have the best workshop ever. Distraction everywhere to enjoy😊. Thank you from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
Still enjoying your videos but where is Betsy? How is she enjoying living on a boat?
That's a huge upgrade
Nice crutch…………
Cheers Doug
im not a boat guy, but i have a question, steel boat is hotter than wooden boat ?i mean like the pilot house, is get very hot in hot summer season..? even did all the insulation , after all metal conducting heat very quick , so is a problem..? just curious,im not a boat guy, sorry for my poor english.
LOVE IT DOUG!!!
I would love to be a schipper for a few weeks aboard, just know you got free (shitty) labour when you cross the pond! 😀
Love the aluminium spool Mig welder you make it look so easy !
I wonder how many hours of grinding Doug has done since he started the project over a decade ago? 🤔 🤣🤣 A Grinding God
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Here we see Doug here using the skill saw and the Polish plain method to round his aluminum instead of the grinder. Not a recommended mode and if you do use it, make sure you have a blade that has good soldering between the carbide cutting edges and the base metal of the blade. Launching one of those it tends to penetrate or shatter, depending on what it hits and it also makes the blade cut worse, so keep that in mind.
hey doug love your choice of toonage
man the first time I had to mute your video to watch it boy what a dumb song
Nice work!
Doug, if you put batons in the sail would it make it fold better when coming down? I was thinking like cheap fiber glass rods?
Man I wish I could send you some money help you out some kind of way just a broke old bilge rat trying to keep up
It's a real treat to see that Old Steel Tractor Seat in place as the crows nest as it was intended…Tomisterricically good!!
There's something about watching Doug free-hand cut aluminium with a circ-saw that gives me the heebyjeebies. I guess it's the same thing when I watch somebody else use a tablesaw. I mean, It's just fine for me to put my fingers right next to the spinning blade, but when anybody else does it, they're clearly about to lose a finger or three!
I've never been one for watching others work anyway, unless they're really good at it, then it's always worth watching.
I can’t wait to see her wing and wing with a bone in her teeth riding down the wind. That’s as salty as my speech gets after a few Patrick OBrien novels.
Who’s the band an what’s song did you use around the 1 min mark I then video? Reminds me of an band called South of Georgia
Another episode of This Old Boat with Doug.
You know, when I see how much construction is possible on Seeker while she's afloat, it makes me think of that old EDS TV ad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2zqTYgcpfg
Do you know something Around the world People aren't that different And I like it
as the sail breaks in it'll prob'ly fold even better.
Why does the sail need a crutch??? ♿❓❓❓ Did it hurt it's leg? ⚕ It does use a lazy jack, maybe it lost it's balance ☯ over that.☮ See🔭
Hi Doug, great video. Something I thought you might be interested in. I see you do a lot of aluminum welding. Didn't know if you knew that they also make stick electrodes for welding aluminum. Thought it might be something you could check into when you have to do some aluminum welding outside and the wind doesn't want to cooperate. I've seen them used once. They seem to work pretty good. Not quite as clean and pretty as MIG, but definitely more forgiving.
