ROUGH Oceanul Atlantic Traversarea spre Caraibe cu catamaranul nostru Leopard 45. E75

  1. You guys are amazing! This was an unpleasant passage on so many levels. I hear encouragement and positivity throughout your video. Thanks for your candor and honesty about the challenges, this is REAL BOAT LIFE! Adrienne, I need to take up knitting now! You have encouraged me to try something new!

  2. Guys I am an experienced blue water sailor. You had beautiful ocean sailing conditions until you lost wind on day 6 and 7. Yachts need wind to sail and 6' waves are nothing. Just a gentle following sea to help you along. Bit annoying when it came from the Port Bow but that was ok and part of sailing no matter where you are. Nothing dangerous just good fun. Remember the boat will take much more punishment than a human. Waves aren't dangerous until they are breaking and THEN you are in trouble. I have been in 50' seas in a hurricane going from NZ to FIJI. Now THAT was frightening and that went on for 10 days but obviously the boat took it and so did the crew. With no disrespect, surely you don't think you can sail across the Atlantic on a Mill Pond. You have a very light displacement boat and that is what may have freaked you out.

  3. Oh those arent bad, last tim i was on a boat in the atlantic, we got caught in part of a hurricane, 32 foot seas. Count your blessing. There was puke everywhere.. Also lay on your left side if you are sea sick, it goes away pretty quickly.

  4. Thanks for this raw and true take on a long crossing. My wife gets car sick and we recently discovered motion sickness glasses. She swears by them and never rides without them now. Maybe they would help on a boat? Google "motion sickness glasses". They look silly, but they work.

  5. It was definitely nerves. And I agree, if you don't like it, why do it.

I was on FB on a motorcycle site and a guy was setting off on a 5 week solo trip. In his post he said he hates to travel. I was confused that if you hate to travel, why travel for pleasure? Lots of people just day ride without traveling. Made no sense to me.

  6. Hey Adrienne! It took me three years, but im finally catching up to all your adventures since you retired. We miss you back in flow meter world. Im sorry the Atlantic crossing was rough, but you guys are champs for getting through it ok. I know im commenting on an older video and you're in a different spot now. Happy sails! Have fun!
