SOLO AND 65, My Mom On Van Life După 4 ani

Where did the time go? It doesn't feel it has been 4 years. I feels more like 2, when I watched Jason's mom get her van. Great video, glad she is doing so well and enjoying most of it.

  2. There's a difference between something you don't like and something that is BROKEN or consistently malfunctioning. In that case, you have a LEMON and should contact the MFR, and/or seek legal action.

  3. You might want to check for a bad ground or a loose wire on the radio/stereo to help the issue. Another thing is it may have been hurt by the lightning strike, I should know.😆 Good luck mom and keep the good stuff coming guys.

  4. Really great to see your mom! I’ve often wondered how she’s doing as well but I’m not into Instagram or TikTok. The things that have kept me stationary are 1) I have a lot of prescriptions I take. How do I know where to have them sent? I have heard you can’t send through a PO box. Mine get filled through a government pharmacy program. 2) I soon will not have a home base and I have a lot of doctors appointments. There was another item I was concerned about but I can’t remember what it was! I guess not being in the worst of health but not being in the greatest, it worries me spending a large amount of money on a rig (nowhere near the amount of an Airstream) and then something happens requiring long term care but I have invested it all into my rig! I know no one can give me those answers but I am going to have to come up with a situation sooner or later. I would prefer not to live in an apartment. I’m older than Mary and have never been on my own so it’s definitely scary to think about. But I will have to come to a decision at some point!

  5. Your mother is AWESOME! What an outstanding, energetic, and enterprising, independent and intelligent lady! Oh, if I were single I would be chasing after her! Thank you for this fantastic video. I was once in outside sales for a metals company calling on 8-12 accounts each day that were scattered from the Louisiana/Texas border down to the US/Mexico border so I can appreciate your seeing clients along the way.

  6. Great episode. Really enjoyed the process. Thanks. But why is there not a link to Mary's social. Now have to go back into the vid to find it. 🙂

  7. Much respect sent to Mary. I admire her independence and obvious love of life and adventure. I hope she has a great Alaska visit. After Mary returns she should visit for a cruise on your new yacht. Best wishes for a safe trip. Thanks for sharing this family time.

  8. Hey if you’re mom wants a place to stay along the way we live in Grande Cache along the way. My wife and I would show her about as much hospitality as we could come up with. We have a spare bedroom and are the same age. I hope she accepts our offer. It would be fun

  9. Very nice video!
I know you have been living in a RV too before buying a Catamaran and as a liveaboard sailor I am curious what your top 3 RV lifestyle and top 3 sailing lifestyle ‘things’ are?

  10. It's good to see how the van is holding up after four years and how Mary feels about it. I am going out this year starting with an older truck and trailer, but I have been eyeing some new small RV's that will probably have the same or better gas mileage. I will definitely be looking hard at shower doors

  11. Mary, as you know, the MB diesel requires a low ash oil with a MB 229.52 (5w30) specification number ONLY. Otherwise the particulate filter will plug up quicker and the egr assembly will fail. Oh and it’s 12 quarts so you need a large catch pan BEFORE you take out the drain plug! For those who don’t know.

  12. Love your moms Rv mad how awesome she is a solo traveller, I live in Alberta along highway 2 QE2). If she needs a free park up for a night and needs to dump her tanks and add water and power, she can hit us up. I live out on a acreage and have plenty of room for a Rv.

  13. Oh wow, Jason’s mom could be Nikki’s mom. They look alike and have the same mannerisms! (Sorry if I spelled Nikki’s name wrong). Anyway, thanks for the video, because I enjoyed it very much. I’m 65 too!

  14. A plumber could put in a circulating pump this would give you hot water without wasting any water.
This would mean instant hot water without the waste.

  15. That was awesome to see how your mum is doing Jason 💕so brave to be doing van life ⭐such an inspiration mum and solo woman travelling in a nice compact van 🌹great video guys xxx 🙏💕🙏 stay save be free n be happy with life 🤠🦎🐨 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  16. Thanks Mom for being here today and showing us around. Really good to see you again and I can't believe that you have been in your motorhome 4 years already… Blessings on your big trip.. keep us posted..

  17. Mary is a rock star. Sounds like she does more before 9:00 than I do all day. I must say I'm a little disappointed in Airstream and the dealer. Beyond the stories you all shared, you could see at points throughout the video that the fit and finish just weren't what I'd expect from Airstream and Mercedes.

  18. Stereo can be easily fixed, but not by the factory of course.
You have to take it an reputable after market stereo installer and they will provide you multiple solution options and prices. Simplest solution to kill the power is to pull the fuse or install a switch to kill the power; the sound quality, low volume issue and popping is because it us massively under-powered and the have the amplifier gain on the tiny amp maxed out and that causes the humming issue also. Fusion is honestly cheap garbage to put it nicely…it's not a bug/lemon…it is consistent absolute cheap garbage.

There is also a fix for the instahot water heater, newer models use a 3rd line to recirculate the water till it gets up to temp than you just switch the valve to stop the re-circulation loop to supply again and voila (pretty sure I mentioned this 3 years ago too and might have linked a video of the upgraded system as it is a known issue).
Also you can protective film (PPF) wrap the glass shower doors to help prevent them from breaking and if they do at least the mess is mostly contained.

  19. That's us! We're those people that camp at the Airstream factory just to meet people and have fun… No need for service.

  20. Really great to hear from Jason mom, we wondered how she was doing with her rv!! The you tube channel of Liz Amazing has a good explanation of how she does trip planning and her rule of three…. 300 miles, 3 pm, or 3 hours. Have fun on your trip to Alaska!!

  21. What an inspiration. I’m a solo mom who lives in Calgary, Ab. You’re welcome to park your van on my acreage for a few nights if like. You can find me @swordlilydesign.

Is that weird? Anyway – have an amazing trip!!

  22. Sounds like the radio has a charging loop, that's where the path of least resistance to charge the batterry is through the power leads of the system. It also may be supported by the fact that the system always has power. Check the grouding straps in the engine bay to the frame and add an additional quality, thick strap between the alternator and the battery.

  23. Decision fatigue is hard when you are solo traveler. I find working and planning and re-routing is sometimes exhausting. I typically stay in one place longer so that I can enjoy myself on weekends and make plans for the next location. Love your Moms!

  24. Jason's mom seems like a SigSauer P365 or 226 or maybe a Smith&Wesson M&P Shield .380 EZ. My mom did this for a while amd she carried a S&W .357 revolver. Had to pull it out 3 times and shoot it twice. Once outside Baltimore and the other was near Chicago.

  25. On the way through Alberta, Mary is welcome to stop in our yard as a stop over for a bit if she wishes. We have been following the Wynns since day one so obviously ya'll feel like family. As a kid we did the van life for years in Alaska and Yukon and NWT. Love the lifestyle. I will send her a message later. I felt betrayed when Jason and Nicky bought a boat initially, but now there is a large one being built right in the front yard which I entirely blame them for changing our life goals. This will be a trip you wont regret! Cheers.
