7. Because of a mixup with immigration i had quite a large o'stay in a Sth American Country. I had to front the Imm office at the A'port. A very very stern Gentleman worked out the cost i was to pay. He then said, Do you want to pay now or when you return?. How many guesses do you want as to my reply. 😊 P.S. I won't name the Country but it's the largest Country in Sth America.

I understand 100% your concerns with passports, I was 3 times in couple, even “pacsed” (kind of mariage in France) with Venezolana women and it was all but easy ! Specially during Covid craziness… have fun and hope you enjoy your new position as corporate pilot.

12. cheaper to stay in a rental+ airfare + marina storage + storage locker is less than sailing to columbia ? doubtful.

13. Get you some vacuum sealer bags for you linen and cloth items on the boat, I seen this on one of the other sailing channels and it does prevent mold.

22. I know space is a premium on any boat. Ive seen cruising channel after cruising channel periodically wrestle with this problem in the tropics and sub tropics. I really don't understand why cruisers don't make room for a small dehumidifier for just these situations. As long as you have access to power set one up to drain overboard with a hose. I keep the basement in my home from molding everything down there with a d unit. You set it to a low humidity setting and let it run while you are away. It's amazing how a low humidity environment keeps things in a good shape.

Well i am not sure what to believe with your Channel other than All you need is Money . 1 seen getting married in the USA some time ago was that all Bull Chit ? and you Are Australian why not get Married there that would allow your partner to a Australian Pass Port, 2, Your Over Stay was caused by You please stop trying to blame everyone Else Its called a check in when you need to do a 30 or 90 day check in free to do at Immigration as i have been doing that now for 12 years. I have all most given up on Australian Sailing Channels because is Please pay for our Sailing Life same could be said for a lot of USA and English Channels and Brazil Channels all they need is for us to pay so they can play. Over It Big Time.

41. We have used a dehumidifier with a drain tube. It works well in Fiji and in Brisbane. However there may be issues or risks. We have not left it unattended for 3 months. We actually have two units one runs on 12volt Dc and the other AC 240 volt. We learnt about these from yachties who are YouTubers. Has any one else used them unattended for long periods? Sure keeps our boat mold free and dry in the rainy season in tropical Fiji.
