What a wonderful thing to do! I was travelling the world long before the internet and long before it was possible to make a living taking movie selfies. I would have jumped at this! Now I'm older and living far from the sea! So it won't be for me, unfortunately. Very sad! How beautiful to have this near-spiritual view of the world, recognizing those who've helped you and wanting to pay it forward. That boat is going to be life changing for someone! What a fantastic idea Plucky, I love the "paying it forward" concept and my wife and I do it regularly too.
The best thing about having the opportunity to own your boat is that we all know its history (well, while you were custodian) and your videos are open and frank.
Boat ownership is well beyond our grasp as is funding the ongoing maintenance. We'd love to apply but I doubt we'd be seen as popular by the rest of your viewers.

I cant tell you how many of those Yanmar 3GM30F engines I replaced Perkins 4.108s and Atomic 4s with.. had to be a couple dozen, and worked on many more. It was probably one of the absolute best sailboat engines ever made. The only thing I was replacing on them was the mixing elbow.

Me and my family can’t wait to find our boat. I’m a bit worried as we have twin boys ( who are two years old ) but I’m sure it will be an adventure. We also want to make a YouTube channel while we’re doing it. We are in that saving and watching everything on YouTube and sat in bed looking at boats stage. We can not wait for it just being part of the boat community. I took a job 3 months ago stripping marine engines just so I can get some experience and the people I’ve met since OMG… everyone is willing to help and teach me things it’s just amazing. …. So with some luck 🍀 one of these days I will see you on the water and hopefully share a few beers 🍻
