Boats have transmission to change the direction of the prop spin, forward and reverse. Diesel motors only run counter clockwise. DC electric motors run clockwise and counterclockwise, therefore forward and reverse with a double pole double throw switch. Depending on the torque range of your motor, and prop you may need prop, RPM reducer. Have you considered replacing the transmission, with a switch? This release you from finding, and repairing old proprietary and unnessary equipement.

Great camera, editing, and sound design with this episode. I think many people take for granted the sound is just part of the camera, but I know from experience it’s more than that. Especially when using a drone. Great job.
Days like that are more common crossing a great ocean. I once spent almost 4 full days mid Indian Ocean where we actually drifted back the way we had come. On the fourth day when we were all swimming the breeze piped up, three naked wet sailors hurrying to get the sails up, then we discovered the breeze was on the nose so down came the sails while we tried to work out the best direction to go, we then got dry and ate!
You guys is so Amazing. Every video you post brings peace as to how a couple should live, doing everything together to move forward even in your worst days at Sailing. You both always figure out things together. You Sailing channel is number #1 to me. This video is so so so beautiful especially the Sunset, you have really and amazingly improve on your filming. Your are in good company , the 6-7 remaining competitors in the 2022/3 golden globe race, solo RTW in 80’s design , no electronic are on the final stretch , 3/23 from Cape Horn to France struggling thru the doldrums and lack of trade winds , imagine having to race in these sort of conditions ?!?!

FYI ,’Sometime’ fairly tight sails will provide a little drive just from the flopping of the boat and generate a little forward motion .
