Navigarea în Irlanda de Nord - Pregătirea pentru a naviga spre sud - Ep. 282

Mai avem doar aproximativ o săptămână de contract și apoi este timpul să ne îndreptăm spre marea albastră. 1. I anchored in Knockinelder bay in May 2022 with strong westerly winds. It was safe but bumpy with a sandy bottom. You washed your lines in the marina washing machine? They'll have your guts for garters 🙂 And you can never have too many jackets.

  2. Great having bolt holes for anchorage dotted along the coast to sit out foul tides/weather. Jacks hole just south of Wicklow head is great. We popped in there few years back to sit out tide change and grab sleep

  3. Hi Ladies. Have a safe trip.
For your information, the outer section of Skerries pier has been condemned and is due to be closed. A number of fishing boats have moored all along the pier blocking access.
You may not be able to use the pier to gain access to the land and would therefore have to dinghy ashore. There are some moorings available if you need. There's a lot of old chain etc in the bay so use a tripping line if anchoring. Skerries Sailing Club welcomes all boaters to the bay so give us a call if you need anything while you're in the area.
    Fair winds

  4. Ladies, from a corrosion point of view, zinc paint suchs (suchs-, is that a proper expression?) I am a foreigner, sorry. Years ago I visited a producer we had in Manchester. Came in to the office landscape for the first time. 20 men stood up and shouted "Bloody Wiking Go Home!" Difficult being a foreigner.

  5. Hi Lasses, at 0.53 there's a portal behind Gaynor, where the man walking on the dock goes right into another dimension, so maybe be careful of that🤣. Can u show me the loose anchor plate, I'm interested in it. I also noticed a wee bit of stress in this episode. Gaynor lovely new jacket, but u should have got Bev a box of chocolates 😲 at least. Take care xx

  6. Hello!!!
Question: For the Ladies and Penguins on board, Which House?
    Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin?
Excellent video and can't wait to see your Autumn adventures!

  7. I can't sail without paper charts and printed tide tables/tidal stream atlases. Use electronics a lot, but they don't give me the sense of certainty that a mark on a chart (and a written log) will give. I can see what's coming, right in front of me on the chart, and the past is there too – the numbers in the logbook, the marks on the chart, all paint a clear and simple picture of what's happened and what I can expect next.

  8. Ian got incredibly jealous when I bought myself a new sailing jacket too! But it’s lovely and I’m sure we both deserved them Gaynor!
