squeezing tea bags in the cup…
Little wonder you take milk to knock the bitter down
So the 2 stroke 100hp motor for the boat we had growing up was always winterized with fogging oil and in the spring we would put it in the barrel and running it and yup it bee supper smoke for a few minutes then once it was all out your good to go for the season. Never any other smoke
Your Dad is a legend
If I'm ever stranded in north England, and need mechanic work, I know exactly who I'm calling. Your old man is a rock star if I've ever seen one
How are you getting around the 90 days in 180 days in the EU?
Dad's so laid back
I might do away with the oil injection side and just premix petrol.
Great channel
You guys need a magnetic parts tray…..lol…hope you were watching what your dad did…..
They're too small. Use them to move to boatyard. Then sell Need good 15 – 20 hp x 2
Hello, Have a pair of 1994 40hp Johnson outboards, my father disconnected the oil injection and we instead opted to mix the oil directly into the fuel which ensured the right amount of oil was mixed into the fuel (not too much or too little ) they have given us 30yrs without much grief, just upgraded to 4 strokes mainly for fuel economy and reliability, however having 2 outboards always gave piece of mind, the only trouble we had was related to water or moisture in the fuel which was minimised with a water trap external filter. If they start and run OK you will probably get many more years out of them until you do a big trip. They looked pretty clean under the cowling and may not have had lots of use. Enjoy watching your videos, cheers Aaron. Far North Queensland Australia.
WOW !!! Never witnessed such artistry before. What beauty.
Judging by the smoke I'd say those engines comply with euro 5 emissions 👌 haha, I'm sure they will be fine. Your dad's awesome
Polish up that lamps back plate should give you better quality when their at night.
To pretty much eliminate the smoke from 2 stroke outboards, use a good synthetic 2 stroke oil. Best value used to be off season Sale price of 1 gallon containers of Mercury Outboard synthetic 2 stroke Oil. It is a far better lubricant than non synthetic Smo,ey stuff, but you have to watch you do not put too much synthetic oil in the mix, as it is bad for the engines by gumming them up. If stuck, a good synthetic oil to fall back on, was Bel Rey Racing Motorbike 2 stroke oil, but it wasn't cheap. Actually made from Sugar believe it or not. . Not sure if it is still available, ut it was brilliant for helping preventing the middle Cylinder piston on Kawasaki 2 stroke triples from melting. 👍
that old jeep, we had one of those in the 90s! proper nice car collection
Really crazy to see your next project lying in a bay in Holland were I live instead of the beautiful places you were last year. Holland is much cheaper to bee in a yacht club than England. You should stay here!
Consider ditching the oil injection tanks and just run mix. Might be easier. I'm no mechanic but I have seen this mod in the past.
So now the engines work , why not re-install them on the boat, rig up the controls on your new deck and motor the boat back to the UK? You will be able to get her berthed a lot cheaper, materials supply will be a lot easier (living might well be cheaper also,) and your very handy dad might enjoy helping you with the technical bits…. Whatever you decide to do, good luck!
Getting a free room in center of Amsterdam could be sick, but highly unlikely 😉
Motor sail it to France. Remember a lifewest
okay you got me, I can't pass on a fixer upper either. There are a lot of Wharrhams sailing in some incredible places so lets get this one fixed and you get us back out into blue water!
Thanks! Your Channel gives me hope, and rids my mind of doubt. Love mechanical stuff! If you are ever near Ormond Beach, Florida I would be happy to help you work on your boat. Take Care. And Cheers!
what kinda tea u drinken?
You better check the impellers before you run them very long Mark, don't want to burn them up.
I wonder if two times ten hp is enough for that boat? What does wharram recommend? Even then you should consider that windage is a huge factor in howmuch progress you can make motoring. When your actual speed over ground goes down to 2 or 3 knots you will spend a huge amount of time and fuel to cover a short distance only.
Awesome stuff, love your Dad, such a cool guy and you’re so lucky to have him helping you with your boat projects. He sure knows his stuff when it comes to engines. Look forward to see how this Wharram comes together 👍🏻💥👏🏻⛵️
Use one on the dingy.
