După o reparație de 2 ani – mergem acasă! Și așa am fost ancorați înapoi de unde a început totul, în afara Vuda Marina. Pentru cei dintre voi care nu ne cunosc, tocmai ne-am petrecut ultimii 2 ani în Fiji, reamenajând fostul nostru Vendee Gobe Open 60, transformând-o într-un croazier rapid de familie. Sezonul ciclonilor se apropie de sfârșit aici, în Fiji, zilele se scurtează, temperatura scade și există un indiciu de schimburi estice proaspete în aer… Toate acestea au fost semne că zilele noastre pe aceste țărmuri erau numărate și era timpul să Începeți să pregătiți echipajul și nava pentru călătoriile lungi din față. Era deosebit de important ca tot echipajul să fie pregătit corespunzător pentru călătoria următoare. Dar încotro ne îndreptam? Am discutat despre ruta și planurile noastre de viitor de ceva vreme, dar recent am luat decizia de a părăsi Pacificul și oportunitățile care ni s-au oferit aici. Nu a fost o decizie ușoară de luat, dar după ce am stat atât de mult timp departe de casă, cel mai important lucru pentru noi în acest moment este să ne întoarcem și să petrecem timp de calitate alături de cei dragi. Așa că ne vom îndrepta prova în direcția vest și apoi nord-vest spre Mediterana și acasă, începând cu Vanuatu luna viitoare. So happy to hear that you're at the point you can head home for a spell to be with family which is almost always a good thing.
The new microphones will be nice but honestly I've found your audio to always be fine as anyone watching a sailing channel should expect some wind noise as just something pretty much unavoidable. Also good to see that your sails are now done and ready to power that monster of a yacht to some unattainable speeds for most so called "Cruising Vessels" that are nothing more than floating condos. She's definitely built to fly and I for one can't wait to see you making some real time as she eats up the miles under some real power on your journey home. A long road to get to this point and you've definitely earned it as two years is a long time but I bet it's felt like it's flown by now that you're looking back on it. There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears that went into this refit but I bet it was worth it to get to where you are now with the overall state of things ready to set off. I wish you and your's nothing but the best.

Have a great trip, I have done the Thailand to 5he med a few times , sadly Aden is off limits , recommend a good fuel cleaning system , lots of motoring . Very jealous what a way to go home .

Seeing "Goodnight Moon" on your bookshelf brought back fond memories of when our two girls were Nemo's age. It was one of the books we read to them every night.

Love your plan to sail back to Italy and see family. Solo is a great fellow, good you plan to bring him along too. When reviewing electrical sytems a thermal camera is useful to identify hotspots, perhaps you can borrow one. How is your mainsail search going? Will you have enough (built in) fuel tankage to cross the calm sections of your voyage, make water and live?

I have seen awful treatment by Egypt of cruisers. It is dangerous for you to go there. Especially if you do not have the resources to pay the corrupt officials bribes. You could loose your boat. Another sailing channel has sailed around the world and the most trouble was in Egypt.
