Contra-rotating propellers are used to counter the torque effect, thus reducing vibration. They wont effect the pods being used for side thrust. If anything, side thrust will be more efficient.

Bezos boats are ridiculous. A "sailing" vessel but then he has to follow it around with a really ugly ship for safety and maintenance. Proof positive the wealthy need to pay a bunch more taxes.
