7. That's awesome, no stands….😅 3rd world Ingenuity a forgotten art…. I think back to my younger years and what my dad and Grandpa did to get by kids today just wouldn't understand.

8. I always thought a steel boat was the way to go in my early years. But a westsail 32 it's been my 2-year rebuild. I'll be leaving Washington State USA this year hope to see you out there someday.

10. All those abandoned boats, many more that the owners are paying storage and moorage fees for but there are only 7 yachts for sale in Fiji all of them exorbitantly ridiculously priced.

31. When I was in the US Coast Guard and we had a hurricane, we took off for the ICW and remained underway till the storm passed and we could return to the station. As a result we never took any hurricane damage.

34. Seen a lot of that Marina Sailing NV did a 2 year refit there, think you would get on well they like to play their own music too.

35. After a lifetime of welding/metal fabrication, among other interesting career associations, I chose the fiberglass (aka plastic) construction to avoid the issues of oxidation related concerns…

40. In the even of a tsunami, no the boats would not be safe. They appear fastened down so they would be swamped with the incoming water. But worse all of the "loose" boats would be carried up like battering rams. Then the destruction when all of the water recedes carrying trees and debris from inland. Best place for a boat is deep water on the other side of the planet. Love seeing the various boats.

41. Hi mate, im in Vanuatu would love to see you. Cyclone season is just about over . We beat Fiji hands down, clear water harbour and cold beer.

43. We did a holiday to Fiji years ago (not sailing unfortunately) and had a look at Vuda point marina, definitely a WTF moment seeing boats sitting on the ground.

45. Hi Barry, I've followed your videos since Spain, but first comment. Last year I finally followed your footsteps, sailing the boat I bought ib Panama across to FP and then Fiji. Imagine my delight in watching this video, I gather from mid-winter last year, as you occupied the mooring spot next to that small white steel boat with the green footprints on it, that looks abandoned, because I ended up in the next slot along, the one with the Amel, next to the big round "abandoned" catamaran (now apparently moved). And my boat, Sea Change, is still there. No cyclones hit Fiji this past summer, so I feel justified in leaving her there, but sadly although I was supposed to get back there this week, it will be August while I recover from shoulder surgery. So now you will be a year ahead of me as you are now in Australia, while I will only get there in November. Still I hope we meet up somewhere one day. 46. I'm always jealous when I see the fantastic places you travel to Barry but nice shout out to SV Delos but I reckon you should definitely get an actual US flag too (the manager of the place I used to stay in Auckland was from Fiji and absolutely top bloke so Fiji's definitely on my list!).
