  8. Well over a year ago, I was in contact with builders in Australia and India who were preparing to make Mumby designed catamarans. However, I backed out because I was not confident about their abilities to weld that thin aluminum plate. As well, I was (and still am) concerned that Mumby's structural design is inadequate. For example, IMO, the bulkheads are simply not strong enough; sacrificing strength for light weight. I wanted some changes made. Apparently, they contacted Mumby and he refused. So, I refused.

  10. I definitely prefer gally down, the only downside is when you have a bunch of people on a boat trying to access heads and berths.

    I have always wondered why they use thru hull fittings on a aluminum boat when you could weld a threaded bung into the hull of the boat and screw whatever you want into those fittings. I am currently in the process of building an aluminum catamaran myself and I am going weld threaded aluminum bung into the hull for all my thru hull fittings. I am going to machine my own billlet bungs and I am going to weld gussets to them on 90 degrees apart.

  14. Firstly, thank you, the information you provide through your vids is awesome…. Question: what happened to the talent that worked in the Cebu yard that built your boat.
    One would think they would welcome the opportunity to build some more and remain employed? Seems like a wasted opportunity with the demand displayed by the responses you have and continue to receive.

  16. Let me know if you guys decide to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. My wife's family owns a lodge on the North Rim and she and our kids spend the summer working there. It is about 8,000 feet and about a 5 hour drive from Phoenix, so its a great way to get out of the summer heat.

  17. Finally found your live stream. You are at La Paz – Baya, Mexico. now. Good to hear to want to haul out in Puertp Penasco and want to spend time in Phoenix US. Less sailing for now, more dry (?) life.

  21. Great watching although I missed the life broadcast. So recognisable, my (now)wife enjoying waves that made me wonder things, but she had zero sailing experience.. I guess that helps to not see danger in these things. Great to see your door sizes. In our boat it’s 39 cm wide only and frankly I can not go in unless.. I squeeze. It’s so important, next boat it’s on top of the list. It also means nothing fits into a cabin without taking it apart or ordering that smaller model..crazy design.
