Dude, those seas remind me of my trips to Bermuda on my dads boat. Double ender helped alot in those following seas.
Shave and hair cut…
Great job sam
maybe if you put proper navigation lights on instead of something that has nothing to do with marine lighting, they would last longer . The other positive to propper navigation lights is that other boats are able to tell what direction you are going.
Those following seas took me back to the Sea of Cortez. It can get spooky out there. Enjoying your journeys. Still.
You are a great sailor. That trip seems seems intimidating. Thanks for posting.
Do you ever get anxiety while at sea? I know if I were to make the trips that you do I would freak myself out from time to time worrying about everything that could possibly happen. Love the content and safe travels!
Of course you can heave to Sam. The main isn't even involved in the equation when hove to. Just backwind the jib and put the tiller over to leeward. In fact, it should work even better with the main down. Try it! ;~P
The sailors say “Brandy, you’re a fine girl. What a good wife you would be.”
Hi, I'm sure those huge waves were mesmerizing as well as huge, so glad you enjoy your way!
Howdy Sam , I want to get it straight on the Great sounding mic, you said it is DJI?? and $300 USD? and it quit? dang !! OK DJI MAKE IT RIGHT. !! and I will buy one.
Nice man! You left from Zeebrugge? I recognized it because I work at the port as a dockworker. Have a good trip! Ps: Mont Saint Michel is awesome 👍
I've a Kestrel, almost identical with the Wayfarer but more spartan – they make super great memories.
Hey when did you film the Wandelaar at 04:04? I think I might've been on board it at the time
Haha, Sam for about 12 months I have been looking for "Beetle" tape. Had no idea it was "Butyl" tape you were using!!!
Thought I was watching an Eric Anderaa video for a moment there, pretty rough for the channel hey!
How do you overcome the feeling of peril? I’ve only done one crossing (500nm) and most of it was high stress. Will we hit a partially submerged container? Would if the AIS doesn’t alarm? I was plagued with what-ifs! Couldn’t sleep. Misery, ha.
Maybe it just takes a lot of time to become acclimated?
Some great footage of shipping and various types of vessels. Thanx Sam 👍💯
Cape Dorys can take anything
I like ur video that one says cross the Atlantic Ocean alone. Part 2 When u catch ur first fish lol that video was dope
Thanks for sharing. I left the RBSC yesterday for Nieuwpoort. When exactly did you sail? With the same wind we dropped the main also. Cheers Sam
I want to see at least one episode of Sam, sailing with Lauren Landers. I think it would make many episodes.
pucker up! nice job pickle and sam
Sam, the carbon-fiber background on the wind sensor also avoids the electrolysis you would get with aluminum(ium).
The people in Guernsey seem really nice!
