  2. I have watched your channel since the beginning and I saw you doing your licence thing and you buying your boat. You have had quite journey Alex. I am a pensioner in the UK and an old sailor, I was going to buy a boat a few years ago but my dad needed somebody to help him, so the boat never happened. By the time he went I could no longer afford a boat and had a couple of heart attacks and a heat operation so the sailing solo was a dream unfulfilled, ho hum! However, I can watch you and others doing it for me.

  3. The "acceptances/none acceptances" of different sailing licenses in each county, associations and maritime authorities is nothing more than a "tuck of war" about how to make as much money out of Sailors pockets as possible.
    It's a scam.
Same are the requirements of the nautical miles on Sea.
It is ridiculously laughable that one licence is good here but not good there.
All this nonsense is only important close to shore but meaningless 20NM. out?
Who "authority" signs of the "required" nautical miles??
A (private-)individual who got paid for it on his own yacht, for a fee or for free or what ever???
Same with the radio "licensing" bullcrap.
Why no one ask to hand over your licences on entering ports?
Of course not. They are fully aware of that scam and the facts of maritime laws.
They are only interested in the insurance policy and proof of paid taxes.
The whole sailing school and licensing thing is as shady as it gets. I found this out the hard way.
    Happy sailing y'all….
    Peace and out.

  4. Alex, I have been watching your channel for a while now and I like your sailing adventures and everything that you post. If I recall correctly, a while ago you talked about visiting the rest of the southern Cape Verde Islands, namely Fogo and Brava which I believe are the only two you have not visited yet. I was born in Brava and left about 40 years ago to the United States. I hope that you visit Fogo and Brava soon. Once again, thank you for the postings and please continue with your amazing adventure.

  5. Videos are getting more professional, Alex. Love your channel anyway. I missed the opportunity to sail like you – I'm ten years older – but I live it vicariously with you!
