Hi Nick, why a 24 volt system? I have been told that almost all cruising multihulls today are 48 volt / 12 volt – for the systems that must run on 12 volt. There is less weight for the conduits with a 48 volt system and lower amps, which should translate into greater reliability. Also, a number of other YouTubers say that there is a lower risk of fire with the 48 volt system.
You know what I’ve learned from watching Ruby Rose and La Vegabond boat builds? Boat builders are never on time so don’t count on it being done on the timeline they claim.

Just an fyi… batteries take about 2 hours to fully charge if the system is designed right and there is enough electricity to charge it. It’s not a matter of cramming electricity into a battery faster… batteries are charged by holding an external voltage slightly higher than the battery voltage and it just takes time to absorb. If anyone says a battery took 30 minutes to charge they mean it was already partially charged and they topped it off. Also, batteries will take the same amount of time to charge the last 15% as it took for the first 85%. This is why electric car owners only stay at a charging station until it’s about 85% full…. It’s a matter of time vs benefit.
Also, charging speed depends on battery type… such as lithium or lead acid or agm.
The alternators will make a huge difference!
Half of Brazil use 110v the other good half uses 220v

Nick, when you finally test the battery charging, a small side info would be nice:
Victron launched a video showing how to roast an alternator with a lithium battery. I will be interested, when you try a crash load on your empty bank, how will be the temperatures of the alternators – are they perhaps regulated down due to overheating.
I have been painstakingly watching all of your videos during this build to help with your view duration and likes as I love your channel, but it sure is painful to watch this content lol. Don't take it to heart, its just not for me and I hope you can appreciate your loyal fans sticking by you through thick and thin.

Nick, did I understand correctly that your solar charging system is very large to charge batteries quickly in optimum conditions so when cloudy or low light they still have the ability to charge adequately ?
At 1:20 , the panel wood is still not even.
If the boat is in heavy rain or rough sea, is there any prevention to make the front glass not be blurred by rain or splashed water, considering the vision from the helm position to the front could become obstructed?

Okay, i have another question, and this isn't judgemental, I'm just curious. Was there any reason that you specifically choose MasterVolt over Victron? I realize that both are highly rated, but why one over the other? Oh, speaking of MasterVolt, twin 200 amp alternators? High cotton! LOL
