When you started your channel the USA was in lockdown. I was working at home. I watched a lot of YouTube during that time. With retirement coming up, i thought sailing is something i could do.
I was in forest fire management so i had no free time in summers. After i retired, i joined the local sailing center and took a few classes and got some certifications. Also doing some racing. Members who have some ASA certifications can use the center's boats. They have 80 sailboats from 14' to 29'. A membership is a few hundred bucks a year. You don't need to spend thousands to get into sailing. At 65 I prefer to sail locally and jump on a plane if I want to travel.
Colin, your humbleness is an inspiration to mirror and the rally to help the family w/the damaged boat, also is inspiring. Thanks Mate for sharing so much of you and the Parlay Crew!!!
