Unbelievable regarding applying a charge for the personal on the yacht and watching the GP. What happens if you're genuinely not interested in the racing? Just like trying to enforce a TV licence. Believe it or not some actually don't watch TV.

Why can't boats with arrest and seizure warrants be taken on the open seas? It's done with with contraband cargo ships all the time.

International law has a very poor record of returning stolen wealth to the people it was stolen from and I think these oligarchs stole the money that paid for them. Have no knowledge of either yachts or weapons but saw that the Ukrainians have been having luck with rpgs suspended from drones fired directly over Russian tanks. How much damage could this do to a yacht.

Tickets for yacht guests at Monaco F1. How many people on board over the w/e – 1k? €300K not much of an additional revenue stream given the size of the event. Surely there’s more to this story…… ?

At best 100 yachts have a watchable view of the race and if each yacht has 20 people on board thats not even 1 million, and what happens if they are all off board when the ticket collector comes round, stupid
Octopus and Lionheart 2 of the largest yachts in Monaco have no view of the grand Prix, they would need binoculars to see anything, I hope the ticket collector charges them, !!!!¡
That’s ridiculous about the charging for the passengers on the yachts. If they’re already moored there they should not have to pay. Just because they are on the yachts does not mean they are watching. Are they going to charge people that live near there, that can hear the race, for a ticket next??
If the US government has sanctioned these people because they are “bad people”, who’d be silly enough to buy the vessels? The bad guys will have their pound of flesh imo…
A smarter plan by F1 would be to partner with the marinas to charge more during the race. The increased fees would be earmarked to F1 for that circuit. Building it into a fee that is already there is less likely to create pushback, and more likely to be paid no questions asked.
Boy, the billowing smoke coming from the engines of the Alfa Nero would surely lower any bids. How unfortunate!
So here's a dumb question. F1 is making all the people on yachts at the marina buy tickets for the race. What about all the people that live in Monaco that are sitting on their balconies that are watching?
The seizure of these yachts will have repercussions for years to come. And not good ones either.
