19:59 they turned out great. Lookn good!
But here is the question does everything have a home now?
Sidepieces? Bottoms? Getting sticky stuff everywhere? You sure this is still a sailing channel? 😝
what a job youve done there 👏👏 more power to your elbow 💪😘
Ty are you going to put some sort of a rod in front of the drawers to prevent them from coming open due the sailing time?
How do you plan to lock the drawers in place while underway?
Radii
Hi Ty, great work, just one question, why did opt to join the sides and front like you did? Couldn't you have inverted the joint, and hide the plywood layers on the front face, while also reducing the visible gaps between the drawers and the cabinets?
I was doing the Ty’s booty happy dance as well! Those cabinets are outstanding!
Great edit today
Now if that don't get your"Ni_ _les" hard I don't know what will! Got to Love a Great Tool room!
Thank You for Great Video this week! Just Awesome!
Until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!
Just like IKea makes theres lol.
COOL! That’s a whole lot of work completed in one video. It’s obvious that you like your Festool Tools and the simple fact is that they work and do the work very well. The drawers look great and the amount of storage space you gained is super too. I hope you create a video adding the drawer fronts. I’ve done some woodworking, but so far I have not created any using the joinery method you demonstrated in this video. Having seen it now I am anxious to give it a try and to make a few drawers of my own. Unfortunately that’s going to have to wait a while as we (my wife our dog) and I went full time in our RV in July 2022 and the majority of my woodworking tools are in storage about 2,500 miles from where we are right now. Nice work all of you!
Ty you nailed it on every project! With your family you guys are very great team.💯💞⛵💞💯
Video ended much better than it "started".
Amazing job! Congratulations!
Great job, shout out for the great drawer effects 🎉😂❤
Instead of taking a quarter inch of all the drawers why didn't you just take and inch and a quarter off the bottom drawer????😂😂😂
Beautiful
You are building the drawers the hard way by doing them one by one. It is much easier to dado and rabbit the material before you cut out apart all the individual pieces. It does require careful layout and planning but it is much faster. One method is to rip a sheet a plywood down in strips to the width needed for the sides of the drawer boxes. Then you can cut the dado for the draw bottom and you essentially have strips of drawer side stock. Instead of a single width strip you do a piece wide enough to make 4 strips of drawer side stock. Then I use a slide compound miter saw with a stacked dado blade that had a cut blade on the side so I can cut the strips to proper length and do the rabbit or dado all in one operation. There is a blade system that allows you to stack a variety of bladed to through cut and rabbit or dado in one operation.
That's a lot of work you just made look easy, and I know It's not so good on you all, a good partner and sibling makes all the difference, All the very best from Aus, Al
As an ex yacht owner, I can see your family with all your skillsets and work ethic being able to afford to cruise for many years – The most alone and friendless yachtie is a boat owner on the hard – So you will always have offers of work for doing bottom paint and prep as well as as much refit work as you want while still cruising – I was in electronics and salt and electronics as in radios etc always had people seeking help re running wiring or coax – but as friends the standard Aussie currency was in bottles of bundaberg rum
The drawers look great and very functional guys congrats
Looks like that bow will be so heavy, you're boat will sail with a limp!! It looks really good though.
❤😂 excellent as ever. Man cave and a very kick arse spouse 😊. The very first show I saw, was the call from the agent of this vessel being salvaged, so I binge watched to see that you do have an epic life partner and I am so happy to see the progress. ❤
Hell of a Job! Great craftsmanship!
Oh boy I used to be a lover of this channel but now it is getting so Boring. I hope you pick up the excitement again as it has dropped so much. Also anyone watching that does not no how to edge band or make cabinets should not try to rebuild nor refurbish a boat just pay someone or not buy a boat.
Very nice! I'm curious about the drawer slides too. Did you use stainless sliders?
OMG ! Way above my skill level
Gee wiss, I think building a space shuttle is more easy . Lol
Love it!
Think I’ll go to IKEA……
Absolutely amazing work Ty!! Seeing your finished carpentry skills was awesome!! That room will be so useful and give you a lot of organization you need in your boat for your tools and work area!
You have this custom made at Just Catamarans Florida for $500. True story.. 😉
Awesome job so talented.
Congratulations on all of your beautiful storage! The drawers are beautiful and I'll bet the salon is feeling pretty good too! I love the self closing drawer effect!
At the end, Ty almost looked like he was playing a big old church organ, pulling out all the stops!…. Maybe he was just looking very organ…ized!!
Ps. Thanks for telling us that another 1/4 inch had to be removed due to a miscalculation. Knowing that the pros sometimes have to go back and make corrections, makes me feel better when I need to do it too!
Just Wow…
Amazing talent, thanks for sharing.
They look amazing. How do you plan yo keep them secure from sliding in and out in a sea on the ocean?
I see you 'doctored' the back edges of the drawer bottoms. Were they a bit of a tight fit? I thought when you opened all those drawers filled with tools, the boat would tilt.
