For these kind of works I use my $40 Jula/Biltema (Harbor Freight in Norway) variable speed (500 to 3000 rpms) polishing machine.
Great idea Dan & Kika keep up the great work you Two !!!!
TBH 2 hours seems like a pretty good life to me. The ones you can get that look like nylon scrubbing pads (but denser) last minutes.
Please Please wear eye protection.
Maybe a buffer/ sander like they use for paint prep on cars
6:00 I'm terribly sorry, but clearly since both of you have two hands each, you clearly need a double-double tandem vacuum cleaner hose so that you can both use both hands at once all at the same time for maximum time efficiency.
Wait I just thought of something else… what if you had vacuum attachments for your shoes as well… then you could have a quadruple hose octuple tandem vaccuuminator, it would be the most glorious thing in all of creation!
Keep this quiet! We're all going to be richer than that Dyson guy whatever his name is… I forget right now, anyway who cares, we're making vacuum history together!
Try dry ice blasting…
@Sailing Uma impressive!
Great clip !!!! Do you have a link to the wheel brush you recommend? Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience 😃
Flapper flat sanding discs work well for angle grinder work well
You need to upgrade to a Catamaran.
"if it moves and it shouldn't – duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should – WD-40" 😂😂😂
Love your vacuum splitter! 👍(And you invented a musical/torture instrument in the process 😜)
Vibratory sanders do the best job. They are much easier on the fiberglass cloth
Oh man, that vacuum acoustic disaster was the best laugh I've had in a long time. I needed that.
just finished a master degree module on dynamic forces and harmonics…. I am pretty stumped why it sounded so bad… my best guess is gremlins
Interesting Hardware Store find. Thanks for the info.
why not just buy a better (possibly corded & faster) drill with a side handle? They've been making them for 100 years.
How are you at sailing in hurricanes LOL?
8/10 on click baiting
Seen the title of this video had to check I hadn't missed one 😮
You post 2 videos a month and is 10 minutes long wtf
The pipe looked like a ridged pipe which will cause the air to whistle over the top of the ridges inside the pipe. Hence the horrific noise.
How thick is the fiberglass hull?
Hey guys try this for your project Eastwood CONTOUR SCT® – Surface Conditioning Tool
I really like the way you explain things and show your process. It's just the right amount of info, humor, and demonstration.
Solving engineering challenges brilliantly as always. Here’s a cheat option you probably already considered and threw out… you can get 90 degree converters for some drills – uses a bit more energy in the gears, makes a little more noise… but now you can hold the drill real good.
Anyways, keep whistling! (No, not you, vacuum hose!!)
You can also buy multi strip disc for an angle grinder that won’t damage the fibreglass, they strip glue, paint, graffiti etc
Ingenuity. Where there is a will (and experience) there is a way.
Well Improvised!
Looks awesome -I wonder how well the 80-grit discs would work to effectively remove bottom paint without harming the gelcoat underneath?
Man. I wish we'd had this trial and error tip earlier. We did the same job this past winter and went the adhesive solvent route… BAD decision.
