Hey bro.. the thinner nut goes on 1st and the thicker nut on the end. You want to tighten the thinner nut to about 50% of the recommended torque and the thicker one gets tightened to the full torque spec.
Don't get discouraged remember a bad day out there on your boat sailing in beautiful Waters it's better than the best day in prison
PS I don't know if you want to get some professional analysis on the spacing required between the prop and the rotor because there is a destructive affect with the technical name I forgot which is caused by Tiny Bubbles which are created in the process of the Turning of the prop if the spacing is incorrect it could cause it to damage the prop
Like you said nothing is easy on n old sail boat, but you got it fixed. Hope the rest of the year goes great.
👍!!!
Looks like your hull will need cleaning in a couple months
Always great to find a guy that knows what's he's doing AND can deal with other issues ! – one stop shop 🙂
Shame u couldn't paint it with prop speed before installing.
Just slam that button!!!! 😂
Great episode! I'm enjoying them all but today was so interesting and oddly a bit tense. I hope all goes well with your new prop and continued adventures. ( Mmmm………I feel like eating a cookie!) You guys have shown you have to be "jack of all trades" while on a boat! Enjoy! (Rod Ince)
I know it would require hauling out but why not pull the shaft and shorten it? NM I kept watching. lol
Hahahhaha big maman safari your funny 😆
Congratulations good jobb
Good job with the prop! Man, there is big growth on you hull! I’m sure you had a lot of fun removing those!
Using vernier calipers the wrong way around. 4:00 Have internal diameter measuring on the other side!
Yahoo! What a win!!! Chris and Marissa have helped us out of many a binds before, they are fantastic friends. How great that your two sister ships have found each other!
Take 4 inch DeWalt grinder and put a cut off wheel without the guard. Tape around the shaft. Cut 1/2 inch off the shaft. Put it back together.
