I think this series of videos will be a very valuable public relations tool for Seawind. The attention to detail and emphasis on quality is impressive. How many builders would have the sailmaker and rig manufacturer on board for sea trials?
They need to make that last large step that sits over the engine fold away to open up the space once you're down inside.
i enjoy your knowledge and insight, but your better half is much easier to look at!

YAY Seawind for their attention to making the best product possible. RR2 looks like ir will really be special and a pleasure to cruise on.
That strainer needs to be moved and that first step down needs to be folding or EASILY completely removable. That area is just too ridiculously snug.
So in realtime, RR2 must be about to get launched…..can't wait to see that episode.

Does seawind offers paint? If im going to be spending 1Mil+ on a boat i dont want gelcoat.
In the RV world there have been a significant number of reports of flexible solar panels adhered to fiberglass roofs causing problems after a couple of years. The heat generated by the panels causes discoloration and cracking of the underlying fiberglass. Rigid panels mounted on rails have an air space between the panel and roof aren’t damaging the underlying fiberglass. Has this been a problem in the marine environment?

seawinds are nice, apart from having saildrives, i dont know i wouldnt buy a boat with saildrives, i say boycott that saildrive madness!
Definitely good to see winch seatings addressed. Hardware upgraded where key. The structure of winch supports have to stand up to 20-years of use (wear and tear). It has to be accessible for repairs, and maybe even upgrades, etc.
Suggest maybe a fan like what is in the cabins installed in the engine compartments. Might help when down there working or doing maintenance.

Nick, you mentioned the autopilot briefly. Will RR2 be equipped with two autopilots? If not, how do you plan to mitigate the risk of an autopilot failure? I think you had a vane on RR1. I'd appreciate you thoughts about autopilot redundancy for your boat.

Can you get the step in the engine room foldable? Meaning the step above the alternators mentioned in the episode. So when you in the engine room, the step is foldable so you can get more work space.
. I’ve watched all the videos. Until the boat build, loved the channel. I stayed with it til now, can’t take it anymore. Unsubscribed, but I had a few points that I thought I’d make. It would have been nice to have more information about Terysa. You have commented about her but very sparingly and it seemed very odd to me. Two, it would be nice to have more transparency about your relationship with Seawind. For example, Gone with the Wynns did an entire video on their relationship with their builder. I feel like I’m watching an infomercial about Seawinds, and I can’t take any more of it. I like Nick, but I’ve had too many “epics” too many “we are six weeks out from launching.” Loved your music on your journey. Loved your interaction with Terysa. Thought you’d really captured a niche which you did so well. Seems like you had lots of options as to how to handle your time during the build, and your choice to simple show video after video of the incremental changes week to week ….. well it’s simply not what attracted me to the channel nor is it enough to stick with it. I know you are close to the end. Good luck, maybe I’ll check back.

Hi Nick. Watched with interest. The first 20 seconds you absolutely killed the "production boat" knockers! Just wondering about RW pump access for impeller and seal changes, as well as the oil filter changes? What's the access for these like? A good guide we always find is looking through the service schedules for the engine, gearbox and shaft/saildrive and how you would do each item. The boat is looking very swish. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
What solar panels are you using and more important, are you planning to walk on top of them? I am looking for solar panels for roof but to walk on top of it easily as well. If you may recommend some, please do 🙂
I saw the BBQ grill directly under and next to the coach roof support. The heat will definately ruin the fiberglass and weaken the structure. Flares could be a problem and smoke will ruin the look.

Looks like the jib could use some vertical battens. I would at least ask Doyle for them and why they didn’t put them on hull 1.
