1. Looking to buy one of those. Can’t find any wher how you can access the fuel tank and look at if it needs replacement. Is it under the boards in the engine compartment?

7. Snap Davits are a excellent solution but be careful how you glue them to your rubber dinghy. Never over different air chamber seams and not to close to the edge seam. This is because the davit will hold some weight and when your boat is bobbing in the waves and vibrating after 2-3 years it can cause cracks and small holes in the PVC material. Glueing and patching up your rubber dingy is something you want to avoid it,s not fun work to do it but quite easy fix if you use 2-component glue and PVC patches. Bought a second hand Sib that had snap davits mounted the wrong way and had to fix it after only using the boat a couple of times. But it will be more safely to store your dingy the way you show in the video.

13. Davits are great for tender storage. May I suggest you look at a Stainless staple for your tender to lean against and tie too.
    It serves to keep the duckboard clear, whilst being a handy rail when not holding the tender.
    Some add bbqs or outboard brackets etc too.
    We love ours, it also helps us to climb out the water after swim. Good sturdy rail.

14. Great insight into the “cost” of upkeep. It’s a never ending task, but keep on top of it and you have a beautiful (and broker desirable – do I need to say that with your career history 😎😎) family asset.

    I was recommended an Ultra Anchor (16kg) from the Swift Trawler Owners’ Club. Reassuringly expensive as the old lager advert would have it. I’ve had mine 2 years and you will notice the difference immediately. Easy to launch, easy to set and easy to recover. That price is worth the peace of mind it gives. Says the man whose Bruce anchor dragged at an inopportune moment some summers ago…

15. Nice upgrades. A question about the engine. Shouldn’t there be belt covers to stop you getting your finger in a belt?

17. Hi Nick, I have a 1990 Fairline and like to keep it as up to date as I can. Swapped out the Bennet Auto Tabs for Zipwake Interceptors last year. Has changed the boat and improved fuel consumption. I can highly recommend. This year have changed to Hydrive Fully Hydraulic Steering.

27. Can I suggest adding another larger bilge pump about 12” above current pump. It is usually called a flood pump. The normal position of a bilge pump means they can get clogged with bilge scum, cable ties, etc. Flood pump is clear of this debris and for use in serious flooding.

28. Thanks Nick for doing the Carbon Monoxide mentions and some people have commented below so the message definitely got through so thanks again. The Emma Louise tragedy was awful but we might prevent another occurrence with help from people like yourself. Thanks again Nick.

29. The AIS link on the PLB3 is absolute gold dust ! Question…. Apart from using VHF, is there a way to indicate via AIS that you are responding to the distress indication ?

Lot of time I follow you on the Web, nevertheless I am really upset about your non effort to speak clearly and not so quickly… Most of english spoken people are mono language and do not care about foreign people who do the effort to learn one or several foreign languages… May I ask you to do your video in other language than english language? For your information I tested automatic translation on your comments… it’s totally understandable !!!! Please continue your video job taking into that your language is not THE Universal Language and you will be followed by more and more foreign followers.

43. Great advice. Boats and rvs need to have a carbon monoxide alarm. I personally know some people who almost had a tragedy on an rv because of an exhaust leak. People don't realize how dangerous it is and you will never realize it is happening without that device. Thanks Nick
