   I live in Skåne and have a bit of experience in working with epoxy laminates. Let me know if you need an extra pair of hands when it's time to glass the hull. I'm guessing it's going to be a quite labor intensive session 😀

3. For a temporary door i would just use a single roll up tarp that can roll up. At the ends use a plank on either end under which the single tarp would roll up underneath so it would not blow around. Some grommets on the edge of the tarp could use "bungee cords" to hold the tarp tight and secure when closed. By boxing in the ends of these holders it would make the doorway fairly air tight .

   How about a lifting part for the top half and then two doors for the bottom half then you could rig up canvas to create a temporary extension for poor weather daus…🤔
   I know youve already done it so I'm curious as to the solution you go for…
   I'm looking at building a pilothouse so it's a mini masyer class in how to approach the job …using biaxial and having the layers offset to get a stronger finish than triaxial is qhat i would pick…🤞

6. I'm always impressed with the work you do and the results. Opening up the barn seems to have been well planned weather-wise! Once the stem is on, will the new doors close? Will you build out the area in front? If you put longer doors on they will close together further out. You just have to enclose what open area you wind up with. That will make it so that you can move around the bow with the doors closed. If you concrete in the area in front of the boat, then you can add roller wheels to the bottoms of the doors. It will be interesting to see how you plan to flip the boat. I did watch a wooden boat-build on YouTube by a Russian family who flipped the boat in their barn.

I find the bi-ax is much easier if you saturate the wood, then lay the mat out onto plastic, wet out one side, then transfer to the boat and lay it on wet side down and then finally finish wetting out the top. Trying to get resin down to the outer layer through to the inner layer on a vertical lay up is very time consuming and messy as the resin just wants to run down, not soak in….

14. Are you intending to use peel ply over your laminate? It would save a lot of time sanding and faring, with a lot less frustration and clogged sandpaper.

18. I watch sailing channels to take me away from farm jobs😊 nice work the spaced boards we cal Yorkshire boarding in the UK it allows air flow for livestock with some weather protection. Nice work you will pass the planking stage great prep work like yours will make the best finished product.

23. Are you aware of a channel called 'Boatworks Today', he goes into a lot of detail about glass fibre
    From what i understand, you would put resin on the boat, apply the cloth, roll it in with a 'fin roller' then apply more resin.

24. The column removed supports the end of gable and needs to be replaced. Suggestion would be diagonal columns similar to mid-barn at the open end, and a beam. You prolly have an engineer already? Great job working together. I’ve never seen a woman behind a compactor before! And then Malin starts going down the driveway too 🤣. Awesome!

28. Malin it is interesting to hear perspectives held by other cultures particularly with regard to environmental conditions.

    For years my family and I lived and worked in a region of central Australia where temperatures regularly attain mid-to high forties Celsius during Summer.

    You might then understand that I was initially surprised to hear you refer to 22 degrees Celsius as "really hot today" and had to stop and think "it's all relative".

29. Johan what direction does the new door face?

    I was wondering if what I presume was the original door that is now a window in the side of the barn was placed there out of consideration for prevailing weather during winter or something?

30. Johan due to the amount of fiberglass cloth you will need to cut for the project have you considered investing in some good quality electrically powered shears specifically designed for that task?

32. I’ve been boat shopping. I came upon RAN, your Beason 40 in SoCal.

33. Please consider: Work on having an electric/hydraulic canting keel. A canting keel will give you dial-up comfort by controlling heel. Also the dagger boards protect twin rudders. You will also have a shallower draft and lighter overall weight. Ask your designer and engineer about it. The engineering is widely known – big carbon frame.

35. Really great progress ! I was concerned about the framing for the new barn opening. I guess the header was ok to be supported as you have done. This build is a real testament to your planning and foresight. I love seeing life on the farm reimagined. I see a future of RAN SHIPBUILDERS, INC.

37. Have you thought about insurance? I have a composite cold molded boat covered in glass. Getting insurance was very difficult. Can you tell me how you are going to handle this?

I have a idea for you , make a track like a roller coaster track and wheels and roll it out of the shop , you tube has a video of a guy from Seattle who made his own roller coaster at home he is a retired engineer and wrote a book on the subject.
