Don't pee on a jellyfish Sting, it is a myth and can cause bad skin reaction and septic infection. Best thing to do is to rince it with sea water, remove the tentacles that might be still stuck on your skin with a piece of cardboard or twizzer then rince it thoroughly with vinegar (the White one. It will stop the venom). Wait a bit and jump into a warm water shower 🙂 It will help to deal with the pain 🙂
Simply a beautiful episode.
Could it be he-GONT-tay?
Before sailing to Greece, you should sail the isles of Croatia as well.
Big like 👍. Very entertaining video 📹. Look forward to these beautiful family videos each and every week. Awesome anchorage. See 👀 you on the next one.
Thanks very much
This was a great video guys. Loved Isa's first dips in the water.
Also, I'm an Aussie who's had my share of encounters with jellies. Lots of beaches in Australia keep Vinegar handy for stings. It neutralises the venom. Might be worth keeping a bottle handy in the inflatable or easy to grab place on the boat.
Did you put a gym on the boat you guys and girls are looking fit go Desiree…
Awesome episode best one yet..
Sempre vicino a voi. Siete una bellissima famiglia!!! Un saluto e un abbraccio dall'italia. Giovanni ❤
There isn’t anything better than eating breakfast while watching a video from you guys! I’ve loved watching you guys for years. Isa brings everything together n you guys look so happy. Keep those smiles on😁
You may think human urine is gross (and it is) but not as much as you think.
All body waste is gross but keep in mind that all urine came from your blood. It is considered sterile until it leaves the body.
Food for your cells is what it takes to build them and the energy it takes to run the cell.
Sugar (glucose specifically) is the fuel.
It enters the cell and is converted into a Cell-Usable energy called ATP (adeno-tri-phosphate). When you use one unit of energy it becomes adeno-bi-phosphate, and another unit you have adeno-mono-phosphate. See the pattern? A couple more energy units and you end up with Ammonia (NH3) which is converted to an acid (urine) which is filtered by the kidneys for removal.
So although urine may seem super gross, it used to be sugar (for energy) and is sterile until it leaves the body.
Just thought you'd like to know – in case you accidentally drink from the Black mug. It isn't as bad as solid waste (which was never good enough to be in your body).
Newborns adopt to any circumstances easy, like Tarzan 🙂 She gonna be child of the sea
Isa wearing glasses is cute 😍 .
By the way, ammonia is good when jellyfish bite
Vinegar is very effective on Jelly stings and much less repulsive to the others on board.
white vinegar
OMG! 🥰 Isa is adorable! 🥰 Loved her in her pink hat and sunglasses! 😍
When we got stung by 'man of war' Doctor reckoned pee is tourist trap. put sting in hottest water you can handle. It kills the spores so they release and fall out. So hot shower was on point… Love the episode and all you guys do. Kia Kaha.
I wish they knew how awesome Göbekli Tepe actually is. Worth doing some research on 🙂
Hi guys. Watched you for so long. Unfortunately I can't afford to support you. I truly love what you do. You bring positivity and calm to everthing. You are amazing people and amazing parents to Issa and Lord Oso. Keep doing you thing
Gary
Hi Jordan! I hope you actually read comments, not sure how to get in touch with you! A couple episodes ago you mentioned that you had to travel to Boston for Isa medical appointments. We just wanted to offer a place to stay, we are not in Boston but 1.5 hours west. We have two kids, ages 3 and a 9 month old, so we have all the baby stuff! Happy to have you if you need a place to stay. 😊
What a lovely family forward episode, guys. Hope all the hospital stuff goes better than expected. Isn't it just amazing today that you can all be together in this beautiful Anchorage, yet getting medical assistance from Boston. Totally makes life worth chasing. B. R. A. V. O. 🎉🎉🎉 See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 👼🌞✨
may I suggest you always bring a gallon of vinegar – neutralizes the jellyfish poison- aussies bring it all the time 😉
Just priceless. All of it. Bravo.
Fellows: my wife and I are a big fan of your channel, your art, and your unique delivery; your concept is superb. Just wanted to give you an advise: have always ready what we call “ice sheets” just in case you need to suddenly bring the baby’s temperature down. They are usually kept on a cooler. Peace and love to you guys.
Boston Children's Hospital is excellent EXCEPT, they make money off chemically castrating children and sexually butchering them with "re-assignment" surgeries. Her steel blue eyes are the ones to die for.
thank you both and isabella , shes adorable , she will be a pure sailor for sure !!! the scenery and the water is a joy just feels like diving in and staying in there forever what peacefulness no wonder you both can relax and enjoy it all , thank you again , buon riposo and ciao a presto !!!!
Great video ! Thanks for sharing. Your loving baby is so sweet !!
Keep the faith between you two !!!😎👍
Really enjoyed Isabella!! Beautiful little girl.♥️
We, your viewing friends are enjoying your adventures and the joy of having Isa there enables us to live vicariously, right there with you. Thank you
Treating Jellyfish – Steps to avoid: Rinsing with human urine
Most jellyfish stings can be treated as follows:
Carefully pluck visible tentacles with a fine tweezers – do not scrape!
Soak the skin in hot water. Use water that's 110 to 113 F (43 to 45 C). It should feel hot, not scalding. Keep the affected skin immersed or in a hot shower until the pain eases, which might be 20 to 45 minutes.
Apply 0.5% to 1% hydrocortisone cream or ointment twice a day to the affected skin.
Steps to avoid
These actions are unhelpful or unproved:
Scraping out stingers
Rinsing with human urine
Rinsing with cold, fresh water
Applying meat tenderizer
Applying alcohol, ethanol or ammonia
Rubbing with a towel
Applying pressure bandages
Medical treatment
Emergency care. Someone having a severe reaction to a jellyfish sting may need cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), life support or, if the sting is from a box jellyfish, antivenom medication.
Oral medicine. A delayed rash or other skin reaction may be treated with oral antihistamines or corticosteroids. You may also be given oral pain medicine.
Eye flushing. A jellyfish sting on or near the eye generally requires immediate medical care to control pain and flush the eye.
Based on a review of 19 previous studies, researchers found that using hot water and a topical anesthetic are more effective than using urine, vinegar, baking soda and meat tenderizer.
These other treatments, they said, may work with species found outside of North America.
"Some of the remedies promoted by word of mouth and online, such as vinegar, actually make the pain worse with certain species of jellyfish," lead author Dr. Nicholas Ward of the University of California San Diego said in a press release. "Current evidence suggests hot water and topical lidocaine, which is available at local pharmacies, may be more universally beneficial in treating pain from a jellyfish sting. Topical lidocaine, a local anesthetic, may also inactivate the stinging cells of the jellyfish, preventing further envenomation."
I used to love swimming in the ocean. The last time I did that, however, I came face to face with a box jellyfish, about two feet away before I spotted it. Thankfully, I dodged it.
It would be really something if Oso found a mate.
Jordan have you done voice work narrative type???
Issa reminds me of Grogu on that floaty hovering back and forth!
Strapped into the "safest floating device ever", pretty sure Isabella doesn't know or care if the water is 2 ft or 200 ft deep. Watching Lenny learn to swim on the La Vegabonde videos was pretty cool. Looks like Isa is on her way! BTW…pretty sure there is more bacteria on the rim of your drinking cups than the pee cup. 🤔😉
Happy to see you all so happy!
When all else fails….piss on it. 😆
Infinite Loving Blessings To Your Beautiful Family
Don't be a wuss. Pee is basically harmless.
❤
Poor you Desiree! Jellyfish sting is very painful. I got stung by an agua mala or portuguese man o war in the Galapagos in January. My son peed into a bottle and I poured it over the sting… it helped almost right away. You did the right thing and quickly too. Jordan: Grow up! Urine is not dirty! Just wash the cup with soap. Good God!
