La 12 ore distanță de cel mai apropiat teren, santina mea, inclusiv bateriile, s-a inundat cu apă sărată, cu puțin timp înainte ca pilotul automat să se rupă. Întotdeauna există ceva cu o barcă! Huub vlog just arrived, now I can start my day. 🙂
Interesting to see the tiny houses and enjoyed the city buildings. Wonder if some of the wood fronts of 2nd story buildings were wood over concrete?
I hit the Huub vlog jackpot today, lots of boat maintenance. 🙂
Huub a hectic sail ⛵ sugar plantation houses were not too bad . Colourful at least 😊
Stay Free and Safe Travels 🙏 ✨
👍👍⛵⚓⛵👍👍❤
Good for you and your positive attitude. 👌👍🏻
A lively video—filled with the realities of true sailing, the beauty, the risks, the unexpected challenges that most sailors have to step up to the plate for. You handled them competently, you keep filing more and more knowledge, adding to your growing abilities as adventurer and sailor. Goed so!
I would like to live in one of those little house's, our modern homes are MUCH TO BIG. Great channel , thanks for sharing. Fair sailing.
You remained very calm and made it work! Did you figure out what was causing all the water in the bilge? That would have been my first instinct.
Looks like another day in paradise.
I know you are not from the US. Did anyone mention Alexander Hamilton was born on Nevis?
Alexander Hamilton (January 11, 1755 or 1757[a] – July 12, 1804) was a Nevis-born American military officer, statesman, and Founding Father who served as the first Secretary of Treasury from 1789 to 1795 during George Washington's presidency. -Wikipedia
Thanks again for the lovely tour of the island. Great adventure. 😀. ⛵
Glad you made it to somewhere safer should something happen.
Thank you for the vids. Confidence is high you will repair the auto pilot at minimal cost.
Nice video! I love your calm acceptance of the reality of things breaking and cooly finding a solution. Very well done sir!
Please buy my boat…..😂😂😂
You are a really cool guy. A selfmade hero 😉 What a challenge and you have a solution for everything..many greetings from germany 😊
Nice crisis management skills! And amazing attitude, sir. Well done!
Here in the states we would call you, " Mac Gyver".
Beats working in a bank! Good video.
nice cool headed approaches. Just do what you can as you can! Be safe my friend, fair winds!
The hot pools look inviting 😬
What is the model of your sailboat?
This is your best video yet Huubs. It had a great mix of ocean sailing, going ashore to interesting places and boat technical problem solving. You really do well keeping your temper; wish I was calm like you!
Huub, I'm just starting out cruising on my old Halcyon and wondered if we can insure our old boats and also have public liability insurance? Does anyone know anything about it, and does it cost a lot?
Well this doesn’t happen every day; just enjoyed this video for the third time, and it’s only been out for a day.
It’s a great example of keeping a cool head under fire and remaining cheerful through the flak.
And Huub, you’re doing great driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road.
Amazed about the workers mobile homes. A bit like an up market shepherd’s hut.
😎
What’s your plan during hurricane this season? If something comes your way, where are the safe marinas?
brilliant [problems solving skills
Time to get rid of the boat !!
You can drill small holes in compartment walls so any water will drain to bilge and the bilge pump will handle it and you won't have to sponge. Then a second bilge pump on separate wiring. Install backflow preventers.
Great video, my father retired in Nevis it's very quite island. Keep flowing the content your following your dream 🎉❤
Remember always if u buy a lemon kind of boat u need to have pump on board which is able to keep your feet dry. Had a big petrol engine pump on a free osmosis boat once and sailed the crap out of it until i got time to shave her up and fix her😂😂😂😂
The capital of Nevis is Charlestown. The last major hurricane was Hugo in 1989. Those buildings in Charlestown are mostly concrete with a wood facade to keep the traditional look. Today 95 % of homes are concrete with galvanized metal roofs or concrete roofs, not wood.
Safe travels and be safe. You will be safer in the Southern Islands during hurricane season.
Thanks!
The hull to deck joint is the most common place for a boat to leak. I hope you can resolve your leak.
Somehow I loved watching you fixing things. It was scary seeing that much water in the boat though! Good going Huub!
Huub, this is the second time this has happened with the water almost submerging your batteries, not good! Have you tried to put a loop that goes above the thru hall to prevent backflow? Or maybe you are just leaned over too far and the loop is also below the water line? There are backflow prevention valves you can also put in.
Man, that boat needs a serous cleaning and oil leak stoppage… 🤧🤧
