    i have over 3,5K raids clear and over 100k boss kill with exactly 0tob clears because of the bs surrounding it, this community is extremely gatekeepy and tob is the pinnacle of it

16. Personally I think it should be exactly like bone voyage and capped at 25k xp/h at 90+. They already ruined runecrafting

17. I laugh thinking about “tele ship to me” just forces your ship from it’s position through any and all objects and obstacles in the way destroying everything in it’s path and 1 shotting everyone along the way

18. Also: started “cautiously optimistic” when sailing won the initial poll, getting less cautious, more optimistic as the dev blogs continue to come out.

20. We already have sailing in the game; just take a trip through Port Sarim. Redundant to make it a skill. It’s just a mode of transportation like the canoe system.

    Look at the debacle with forestry jacking up xp rates like crazy. You can’t even trust Jagex with current skills let alone have them create a new one.

    The fact that Jagex lowered the poll approval to 70% instead of 75% right before the preliminary new skill poll in December 2022 shows that they know the community would not let such a skill pass if the requirement were the original 75%, one that worked for nearly a decade and allowed the vast majority of polls to pass anyway.

    They deceptively claim it’s an “integrity” update due to “low voter turnout” (the Warding poll in July 2019 had 125,000+ votes) when in reality they just want to force a new skill on us and will change the whole polling system to do so. It’s anything but integrity.

    I genuinely think they rigged the preliminary new skill poll, based on the huge disparity in voter approval percentage (81%) compared to all three previous skill polls (57%, 66%, 68%). They probably rigged this sailing poll in advance, too.

    The December 2022 poll had 66,000+ more total votes than the July 2019 Warding poll, yet it had over 5,000 fewer no votes. Huge disparity. Definitely suggests rigging on Jagex’s part.

23. Definitely needs to be rewarding to be worth it. Sailing was my pick because I think theirs way more they can do with it then the other 2 but I wouldn't be upset at all if we ended up with all 3. They all sounded good

24. when they say 'sailing is about exploring', that worries me. Sailing should be about sailing. Getting in a boat and navigating the ocean. Not finding islands

28. Fun little easter egg if you know rs3 a bit. At 7:37 you can see the shadow reef which is a Elite dungeon in rs3. So they've basically teased a raid in the video.

29. Seems like ports/dungeoneering give a good idea of what Jagex wants sailing to be.

30. Yeah I think anywhere between 60-200k xp an hour for bis rates is ideal. Depending on intensity and difficulty.

31. Totally agree about softlock remarks at 15:00. Getting a good enough team for ToB is a big pain that I don't want to deal with. You should still be able to visit these places with a friend, but limit the exp and rewards you can get until you have the sailing level.

32. So I wonder… since there's ship in a bottle if people can destroy and salvage your shit while it's left at a port. That'd make the bottle crazy expensive I'd think
