  1. teak foam matt is not good. does not last, usually holds water which can speed up rot depending wherr its placed, i would not use it. i would remove any dead electronics and switches from the helm and fill it all smooth and fiberglass it. then you can paint it whatever color. you can install a porthole in the bow hatch just be sure it wont leak before installing. if you plan on keeping the boat i would get rid of the vacuflush system sooner than later. for heat i would use china diesel parking heaters, they work great and be installed in engine room and ducted. your entire anchor line does not need to be chain, just use around 10ft and the rest a heavy line. get some lead scrap from a local scrap yard and melt it into bricks, put them in the bilge opposite of generator to balance the weight. i had a 27 uni and i loved it. great boats. currently have a 41 hatteras being slowly restored.

  2. Welcome back !! We missed you. You guys have really done a nice job on the boat and she is looking good. Have a great summer and please post when you can.

  3. I'm greatfull that you are allowing us to accompany you on your trip in putting the boat into a decent shape. Very creative, practical solutions but also the will to improve. My compliments. Some episodes earlier you mentioned to suggest a name for your ship (or boat??), I would name her "Perseverance" as you did a tremendous job. Kind regards and greetings from the Netherlands, Derk.

  4. Ive missed seeing these videos from you two. Glad to see you're back and still cracking on with the renovation. Great job so far, looking forward to the next one

  5. When. I saw the heat lamp in the forward head I thought there's a fire waiting to start. Get rid of it fast as you can. So many fires get started by heat lamps, both marine and residential. Great work you’re doing on the boat.

  6. Just a thought on the second helm….you could just remove it to gain more cabin space. Especially since the bridge is now fully enclosed. Just a thought! I have a 52 Silverton with just the upper helm and love the open cabin space. We dont go out in really bad weather so there is no need for the second helm. Good Luck!!!

  7. To prevent fires you may want to spray a green ceramic primer that is fire resistant to thousand degrees and it is antimicrobial.
I play golf with the owner and founder who sells to the major oil companies.

  8. DO NOT BUY USED ANCHOR CHAIN. DONT USE THAT CURRENT CHAIN YOU HAVE. PLEASE GUYS, DONT LEAVE THE DOCK UNTIL YOU HAVE SOLID ANCHOR CHAIN AND ADDITIONAL ANCHOR LINE. SAFETY ALWAYS. SHIT HAPPENS VERY FAST. MAKE SURE THRU HULLS ARE 100% SAFE. GOOD LUCK GUYS. LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING ‼️‼️🛳⛴ Vinny 🇺🇸

  9. For the counter, where the radio used to be, you could try fitting a piece of solid surface, material or a poured epoxy top

  10. How are the zincs and thru hulls? Probably need to get that boat out of the water and check those items as well as some fresh bottom paint. Love the black kitty! I loves me some kitties!

  11. I've noticed some boats are using the small diesel heaters that can be plumbed through the boat and vented outside and from what I've been told by some friends they really dxdon'use that much fuel

  12. You’re doing a great job at bringing back a beautiful old lady. I’ve got the same boat and need to replace the seals on the rear windows. Could you share the name of the supplier you used to get the seals you used? Any tips on the install would also be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, you’re an inspiration!
