Thanks for another great video Joe. Are there still communication rooms on the ships? Thanks.
I just found this video. I am about an inch from my USCG license. I have this romantic dream that I would love this. guess where the Sam Laud is right now.. steaming 8 kts torward Buffalo where they delayed the NFL playoff game.. hahaha
What a great, slow paced calm video! Thanks.
As A resident of Michigan, I am never far from these Lakers & have been most of my life. They are in your blood, just part of the DNA!! PRETTY HARD FOR OTHER FOLKS TO UNDERSTAND. HISTORY, TRADITION, FOLKLORE, A NECESSITY FOR THE Nation.
This, good folks, is America at its best. History, Culture, Hard work, and results. Thank you, good men, women, and ships of the Great Lakes.
I didn't see anyone mention the fact that the Sam Laud was in one of the opening shots of the 1989 movie, Major League.
I can't even listen to this slow ass shit
Are the ships crews unionized?
What kinda training does one need to go through to become a laker?
The scrubbers and the emission controls systems on the smoke stacks aren't a hundred years old . Just saying🍁😇🇨🇦
Great video Joe thanks
My grandfather's brother was a captain on a Great lakes freighter out of Windsor, Ontario I believe. I will try to find out the name and relay it back the next time
I wish you would have added to your video, passing under the Mackinaw bridge.
I loved that video!!
Just discovered your channel! OMG, your content is awesome! That first shot of the Tregurtha steaming down the St. Clair River (Sarnia/Port Huron) brought back so many memories. I'm Sarnia born and I just miss the water so much. Thanks Joe!
Do any videos of arriving in any Buffalo, NY ports/rivers? Nice stuff.
Well with that opening music you picked, who wouldn’t be depressed?!? LOL! Good vid. Enjoyed it.
Cool hearing about ships on the great lakes.
the plunking plinking music got to me…ended this one quickly. Thanks anyway.
Very good video, awesome music.
Lived up in Marquette for a while and we had a lot of the really old ore boats there. Freighters like the Lee A. Tregurtha that have been around since World War 2
Love the music
I have a home outside Cleveland and a small place in Marblehead, Ohio. I have seen the Sam Laud numerous times over the years and marvel at the comings and goings of these Lakers.
