Love the show, been watching forever.

The breakdown of the survival kits was awesome for a couch sailor like me but the 20L jug of water seems a bit low no?

According to a site which does a nice breakdown of water consumption in a survival situation [link removed due to youtube's posting rules (eye roll)].

It's looking like the minimum water intake (in a temperate environment at rest) is ~ 1L per adult. With 8 adults and 2 dogs that 20L jug will last 2~3 days? Not exactly days and days?

I know this is a hypothetical and obviously with all the gear at Parlay's disposal (not to mention the resourcefulness of the awesome crew/skipper), I doubt they would need to survive more than a day, but still, just thought I throw this in here.

Love the channel, thanks for keeping us land-lock wana-be sea dogs sane 🙂

  2. Love the videos. Safe passage to you all. How visible are the stars and Satellites? With the boat moving , its probably hard to capture with video. The Space X Sky Train, has it been visible?

  3. So loved this episode! with Colin and his masterful explanation of the wind and weather routing to , to the murder mystery game ,BTW who won?? REALLY love the deep ocean swim !! I've seen the Delos crew do this EPIC!!!!

  4. this is cool and all but there is no tension or drama even from the titles when you did a live stream of the equator crossing what feels like months ago now.

  5. More clickbait, and yet another juicy close-up thumbnail of our super-butch sexy hero CAPTAIN COLIN. Didn't bother to watch the video.

  6. Great video. I love the way everyone is into the " murder mystery". It breaks up the boredom of a long trip. You definitely picked the right crew.

  7. Is it worth the effort to put up a 'Rain Catchment' tarp during long periods of no sun and lots of rain? It would provide laundry and bath water while saving potable water for cooking and drinks, reducing the need to run the power hungry watermaker.

  8. We have the same solar charger as you have in the go bag. It's awful. It takes forever to charge and barely holds that charge. Also, it's not water-resistant.

  9. So do u all know what its like to freeze the "balls of a brass monkey" sailing through the doldrums? How many of you know what a brass monkey is? Also how did the term "Son of a Gun come from"?

  10. Add these to be complete…
    -Fishing hand line x2
-Lure & tackle roll x10 lures
    -Cups x2
-Super glue fast & med w/ set spray
    -Deck of cards x3 waterproof
    -Cribbage Board x2
    -Note book x2 waterproof paper

  11. 20L water, 8 people = less than 2 days water in the tropics and even then you would be pretty thirsty …. but you should be able to collect rainwater at the moment.

  12. Been watching Sailing Learning by doing on YouTube Ep241, he has a really good Doplar Radar, it seems to show more information than what you showed us re squalls, you may have it …it’s color indicated as well.
    Fair winds
