Pentru a pune această aventură în context, telefoanele mobile, televiziunea digitală, video HD nu erau încă inventate. Videoclipul filmat la bord a fost casetă video și calitatea imaginii nu s-ar potrivi cu cel mai ieftin telefon mobil de astăzi. Mulți dintre membrii echipei care au realizat acest film au murit, iar filmul în sine era în pericol de a fi pierdut pentru totdeauna, deoarece nu a fost niciodată difuzat, iar caseta video are o durată de viață scurtă. Am fost unul dintre cameramanii acestui film și am montat echipamentul pe iahtul lui Anthony Stewart, ca să poată filma singur pe mare. Nu exista practic nicio tehnologie la bord și nicio comunicare cu lumea exterioară. On a diferent level…
I knew Ant, seems like a lifetime ago. Got to know him during a Laser regatta at Point Yacht Club in Durban in the mid/late 80's. One day while we were all drifting around in no wind, waiting for the start, Ant shows up on an L26, sailing through the fleet of Lasers, blasting Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" from a boombox, like that scene from "Apocalypse Now". Good memories!
OK the audio is screwed – the level is completely wrong and the narration is only one one track (right ch) and then it jumps to the left …..
I have no problem with loneliness. Matter of fact people are a problem to me. Imagine I will be quite at home on the open ocean.
