  15. Having been caught my first season sailing with my pants down and sails up in 47 knots of wind… I feel your pains here lol. Everything can be replaced. Glad your both ok! (Nice camera work when everything went south)

Something I learned the hard way is to tie a rope to one of the outboard clamp toggles and secure it to the boat that way if you experience another flip and maybe you didn’t tighten it as good as you thought you won’t lose the outboard. Good 👍 video you really was able to capture a stressful situation.

  19. How great the outcome was. Throughout the entire final segment, I was terrified that the result would be bad but thank heavens it all worked out.

  24. Run that outboard until its nicely warmed up, then change the oil and filter again to play it safe. I usually use cheap oil and filter for that first warm up run for drying out the engine after a dunk before putting the good stuff in. This is where WD40 really excels since Water Displacement formula 40's main purpose is for displacing water to prevent future corrosion so a healthy spritzing with WD40 and wipe down will help prevent future corrosion issues and electrical problems from the dunking.

  29. I wish I will be wrong but to be dropped into seawater is not the healthiest thing for an engine. Please enlarge your maintenance activity fot that engine. I would expect corrosion in or at all electric components. Pray that I`m wrong! Wish you both all the best.
