Get down to the Med directly, it will make the adaptation to shipboard life so much easier for you, especially with little Ollie onboard.
Too much talking for me.
Get into the warm weather where it's cheaper to live, the kids can enjoy the beaches and swim in these clear blue waters.
Around uk get to the boat first
Loads of comments mentioned you should do Around The British Islands first. I agree. Being Dutch, I travelled and sailed around the world entirely ignoring the beauty of my homecountry which I will explore, on a small sailboat, in two years when I retire at 67. Furthermore I do agree it would be better for Jack and Ollie. However, whatever you decide…..go for it!
Hi guys, watching you ref storage, I was a li e aboard o a 26ft a 25:53 and found the best way to store tinned food was in "real useful"boxs, worth the expense as then you can see your provisions.
Small ports around UK then small ports of the Channel Islands, and of wherever
Hey circumnavigate uk just cause like u said not many folk document it and plz long or short vids doesn't matter for we will watch
I can't help you much with the long versus short conundrum. I am perfectly happy with either. Do what feels most comfortable for yourselves.
First, another vote for UK circumnavigation from me. That would be an excellent test before going further. Cheers from a French little sailor.😊
the cockpit is looking grate can not help at the moemint but as soon as I can I'll send some money your way were I am is very warm at this time of year here a CALL OUT TO THE OVER OUT THERE HELP THEM OUT love you all later
I would love to watch you circumnavigate the UK. I know you might feel itching to get gone for new adventures abroad but I think you might not do it when/if you come back years down the line. Ultimately, your choice guys. 😁
Ya might as well do round the UK first… altho I suspect this coming Winter is going to be a narly one 😮 Nice job on electricd Andy. Yeah ya can gang up electrics like ya done until ya get new RCD JUST DON,T USE AT SAME TIME. 😮 would head to warmer climate for Winter come back do round UK next Summer although in saying thst some warmer places in the MED etc can be quite cold over winter 😢 One thing with Steel Melody for me is the advantage of the closred in wheel house and being able steer either in side or out depending on the westhet which makes her ideal as a winter Cruiser 😊also the Drop Keel means ya can get closer in. Easy to maintain bitta RUST grind dowm paint done. Also more enviromentally as can be recycled 😊 Ocean Melody Can,t. 😮The wheel House on 😮 SM is the main selling point provides shelter and shade outa the weather when passage making warm when door closed 😅. Ya should keep her use her as ya Tender 😊. I am sure you. Will make the right choice for you guys😅😊😅 keep at it carry on. 😊
UK Circumnavigation gets my vote, besides our climate is actually very pleasant 🙂. Port hopping, picking your weather windows, should be great. The Med may now be overheating anyway!
2x short episodes are fine. Also you can preproduce content. I'd be okay with not being up to date for 2 or 3 weeks. Just so you don't freeze your * off: why don't you head to the med first and return in spring.
Timing: Cockpit completion, finishing steel Melody and selling her, weather, mooring/marina, Ollie/Melissa's health. Interim, small boat fixes.
I enjoy 15m – 25 m episodes depending on the job(s) complexity or challenges. One option is to split along detailed content into 2/3 episodes. Or for multiple items, shorten the video length and staged as you prefer 1/2 week.
Weather and circumstances permitting, go for circumnavigating Scotland/England. Good for us, Jack and Ollie. Lots of history and geography. Nothing wrong in promoting your backyard. Either way England or Europe, it's a bit too soon. Tortoise speed decision making until plans crystallize.
Use spare time wisely to finish small projects. Settle into a much smaller space. Continue to winterize the boat. Make good on painting, lighting, electrical, plumbing, organization, bilge/sole projects. Winter and the holiday season is soon upon us.
Ref the video length, whatever works for your family life and the youtube algo. Personally I use the pause button, it's a very useful device and I'm surprised other people can't do the same 😀
Great background music!!!!!!!!!
Thank for the videos of your adventure. I agree with 2-15 minute videos a week. Either way your videos are excellent.
The main reason I’ve heard for removing the labels is that you might find that an insect has layed her eggs underneath. You are removing the labels to make sure your cans are insect free.
I enjoy your episodes weekly and I don’t mind them long or short. I love your stories and mix of content including all of the family. I’ll be watching.
Go South young man!
I would prefer two shorter videos rather than one long video. The shorter version allows you to "tell a story" or concentrate on one task. The longer videos have to be a compilation of multiple tasks that may or may not be related. Also, my attention span works better at 20 minutes rather than 40
A great video enjoyed the in depth content. Purhaps every 4th video do short video. If you do work on 240v circuit I would advise you to invest in a clamp over meter. Look on google for a company called BES plumbing supplies they deliver nationaly and reasonably priced. I think when doing any electrical work non contact is a must. I look forward to the next video.
Sack off the UK – you will come back and do that at some point – yes its beautiful but dreams of foreign shores drive your lifestyle!
All that said its nice to be close to the NHS with a baby….
