Sorry about all your challenges. Love this couple. Such a good team.
Boating is great when everything works and still good when it doesn’t!
With sufficient bilge, you can remove shaft & plug if necessary, much easier vs saildrive, there's vids on it. Could also beach on high tide, chocks under hulls for clearance. Getting those bolts loose might be interesting
Darcy and Yvette, I have to say I respect the positivity and your ability to look for the silver lining in these events. I hope this doesn't keep you guys on the hard for too long.👍
Hope you made it to Vancouver safely 💛💛💛
How far south have you made it?
Another great video.
Where did you purchase your boat and were there any maintenance logs ? Safe journeys !
It's an old Cat, problems are going to happen.. and yep Cruising:- fixing your boat in exotic locations.. Great to see you are both still smiling. Thanks for the video.
You know that I absolutely love you channel, your charm, big positive aura and the "can do" attitude. Therefore the following is quite difficult for me to write (and in the end it's only my personal opinion respectively my personal kind of taste). But to be completely honest, I almost stopped watching this video because of the loud, annoying and therefore distracting music. Please consider to have only background music and only in a way it was at 19.50 min. (not louder). If speaking please have no music at all. Thanks in advance for consideration.
Dear Sailing Supernova couple.
👍👌👏 I simply love whales. 💚💚💚 Congratulations 🎉 for being able to watch so many of them. 2) 😱🙈 Oh no, Murphy's law kicked in again! I really hope that you can change out and repair everything that needs to be done soon. And please, please empty all your fuel tanks and clean them thoroughly at last. By the way: Please kindly allow me to ask why you don't have Diesel prefilters? Made out of clear plastic or glass with a mesh in it to remove bigger particles.
As always: Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards, luck and especially health.
Post Scriptum: I simply had to remove, split and rewrite a similar comment which I already wrote/posted yesterday.
Easy fix, run it on the beach wait for the tide to drop.
Had the diesel bug in a 4×4 we picked up cheaply. It was treated n it was run through the engine…we later on changed the fuel injectors as the engine lacked power. These issues n resolutions are common for fuel tanks that have had fuel that sits for a long time seasonaly
I am really impressed with your attitude,
Only way to be sure of getting rid of diesel bug is to clean out your tanks , do a complete filter change and replace all fuel
lines and use a fuel additive every time you add fuel,
This two always put a smile on my face 😁
What sort of a bug survives on diesel aye?
Hope you get rid of it successfully!
Hope you work out the engine issues, love your positivity ❤
Those float homes were creepy 👻
fuel tanks need to be cleaned IMO. I'd transfer the fuel in to a container or containers and then have that fuel polished before putting it back in the tank
A diesel polisher is IMHO a much better bet than just filters.
Kraken fit them as standard to all the boats they build.
My next boat I aim to make one… so diesel will be polished before it is sent to the engine and the engines filters.
No film of the whales?
Oh man, I am so sorry, you two are very resourceful though, so I have a lot of confidence you will pull through!
Wow the whales! Hey, maybe you will seem them in a few months in the Sea of Cortez. They are on their way south, too. Great video, you are doing a fantastic job on the videos. Thank you.
You guys got a tank full of crappy diesel last time you fueld up. Need to get the entire tank full polished.
Use your dinghy as a back up engine for your docking or emergency situations.
Few lady’s look better with less but you are gorgeous you sir are a lucky man
Another resource for fuel cleaning advise would be any commercial truck shop. You know the people that keep the big trucks rolling. We used to deal with the algae in waves. Like for weeks every truck that came in, all the local trucks would have it. I recommend this route because of the sheer number of cases that a road diesel shop deals with and their very valuable experience in what works, what's a waste of time effort and money, versus a marine who might treat one case of it every 6 months. Great channel by the way. Love both your positivety. Yeah granted diesel shops typically won't be waterside but any service manager would be overjoyed to help out people leisurely using a diesel motor for fun, instead of the usual "I needed it done yesterday or my business is ruined", type folks.
Oh shit guys, so sorry. By now you two are champins of adversity i'm sure yuo will have it fixed in no time and Darcy you are one hell of a Mechanic!!
