Amazing Ladies to go through all of this! Glad all ended well and didn't seem like you were discouraged.
oof it just seems like a lot of work to be full time boat people. You dont think this kind of thing wont get old super fast? I would have sold the boat right after that trip and bought another 911 😂, cheers to you for the perseverance.
Forgive me for saying this but I think your surveyor owes you some money. Sorry you had such a rough trip.
Glad it worked out, but you need to know your systems of the boat before you go out to sea.Great story that I hope it never happens to you again.
At 26:56 I had to go hunt down my patche(s) from our Antarctica trip. I'm okay now. 😉 It was a lot of fun to make this journey to Key West with you; I'm happy I did it from the comfort of my home. Colorado and 356 Porsches, Florida and Sailboats all, contribute to this channel being one worth visiting. Gotta respect that adventurous spirit you two let loose virtually every video.
Talk about making it go right! You did it, Franny.
Your mechanical experience with cars has served you well.
I have a lot of mechanical experience all the way from shipboard in the 60s working in an engine room to working as an aircraft machinist to working on cars for years. I don't know that I could have done what you did. At my age, now, if I were there, I'd have plopped down on a couch and hoped some passing ship would come by and rescue me. 😂😅😂😅😂😅
Love your storytelling, peppered with facts and mechanics. Thank goodness the kitties weren't there.
Oh dear I see trouble in paradise. From what I can see you were totally unprepared for the sailing experience. You seem shocked by the weather and the impact on the boat. I still do not understand why you have invested in a very expensive yacht without any sailing experience.
nice one girls Glad you made it, looking forward to seeing the mechanical side of your new adventure…
Wow.. This is so great! Love your family full of pets and a gay out there relationship! You make America so proud. We have come so far. Go America! Be all that you can be! Vote Democrat 2024 and we can have more of this exact thing! Yippiii!!!!
If you have a fuel quality issue it’s common for it to surface in rough seas. Of course you know that now.
So moral of the story is don't go sailing, especially on a planned multiday trip, a) if the weather is bad, b) if you haven't properly assessed the state your equipment (mainly because you don't know what you are doing yet), c) you haven't verified if you have adequate replacement parts on board, and d) if you don't really know how to sail yet. Got it.
Incredible/excellent video! Thanks!
We are really enjoying following ur new journey; although I miss the 308.
What a journey.!
We’ve only experienced 30 mph (small white caps in comparison)wind sailing on a lake in KS & can only imagine how both frightening and challenging that Christmas voyage was.
We can’t wait to see your videos on the repairs!
All the best,
Joe and Leslie
I'm still stressed over the starter in my old 911 dying in the gym parking lot (I did manage to fix it myself). That was NOTHING compared to this "adventure"! Your mechanical skills sure came in handy! So…what was the problem with the primer plunger? Was it related to the gunk in the tank?
Darn, I’m in Miami. I was actually in that same bay on South side of Fisher Island on our boat and I live in one of those buildings in the bay with most of my tools there. I could have helped you guys. Would have been my pleasure. Your videos have helped me with my 3.2 Carrera so would have been payback. Glad to see it all worked out!
Use diesel fuel conditioner to reduce the algae growth. The fuel is most likely old.
I’m enjoying your new format. It’s relaxing.
Wow!! We had heard your story over a few drinks in Fort Lauderdale and now we got to re live it!! Great job with that engine! ✨😊😊
What a trip! Key West is notorious for lousy holdings !
Great video and adventure. Enjoyed it!
I am so proud of you two working together to sort out the problems as they arise.
You are both so brave to tackle this new world.
Thank you for wearing your life jackets. I worry.
Wow, what a trip!!! Was bound to happen though first time, weeding out all the problems. Hope boat life is more enjoyable from now on!
