Este timpul să ne rezolvăm problemele cu barca. Avem mai multe – unele dintre problemele descrise în acest episod sunt auto-provocate (șocant, știu), unele sunt legate de design și altele sunt doar pentru că avem o barca foarte grea. 1. Looks to me like the line was wrapped backwards around the winch initially! Things that happen when you're rusty! It will all come back in time!

  2. Unless the winches in Australia and or the southern hemisphere go counterclockwise. The line was wrapped the wrong way around. I’m probably the 1 millionth customer to say that but just the same it’s a pretty common mistake so don’t feel too bad.

  3. Great episode, raw and fun. Question though, when feed lines through the winch 😮is it not good practice to turn your hand and have your pinky finger closest to the winch ???

  4. You guys are amazing, open, honest, fresh, sincere, and climbing the steep learning curve of a new boat. It's not easy…it's why we can't move off our lil island spirit, we know every system and part. And we have rebuilt every system 3 times in 22 yrs. Hang in there, it will all be learned in time. Take it easy on yourself and reflect on your epic success!!!!!

  5. You two are lovable and funny. I know you are impatient to learn everything about your boat but will take some time. Discovery is excitement. In some months or even a year, you will know that boat like the back of your hand. Everything little thing on boats or anything else is a learning process and frustrating doesn't happen quicker. Consider it an adventure because it is and you cannot rush it. We are with you. We may not have done similar things on a boat, but we have done them on other things. It all works out in the end. Consider this. Sitting around reading books all day would be boring. One doesn't need to get out on a boat to do that. Stay home and sit on the couch if that is what you really want. You want it to feel comfortable like your mono hull. It will eventually. Thanks for the fun.

  6. Hm, can't really vote because both outro's were great.
Happy to see you two settling in and out there really living your dream.
I have no idea if you've ever seen the facts I'm linking below but I think you and all who watch should be made aware of it.
Fair winds, following seas, safe travels and God Bless.
Isiah 53 describes in graphic detail how our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Yehoshua, would be executed 610 years before that method of execution had even been invented. In the Qumran Cave Dead Sea Scroll discovery of 1946 – 1947. There was an entire Isiah Scroll recovered and our Bibles are pretty much a match to it as long as they maintain a word for word based translation. That scroll is from 200 BC, (give or take a decade or so), so even if people say there's no way Isiah predicted all he did about the Lord's coming and execution 700 years before it happened. The date of that Scroll sets it firmly 200 years or so before the Lord was even born and that method of execution still hadn't been invented yet. I've seen reports that crucifixion was found to be used by the Romans in 90 BC but that still doesn't explain how Isiah knew about it 700 years before that time or even if you date it by the Isiah Scroll that was found in the Dead Sea Cash dated to 200 BC. It also demonstrates God's love for us by His preservation and the accuracy of the preservation of His Word.

If I had just Isiah 53 I could preach the Gospel as we find out from the story of Phillip and the Ethiopian Eunuch. Isiah 53 is among the strongest proofs that our Bibles do in fact contain God's Word showing His divine nature in His Prophetic Words given to Isiah via the Holy Spirit. Most have never seen this information which is truly sad in that our Lord is the one and only way to salvation for any of us. (John 14:6)

We know from our Bibles that some will one day believe as that's one of the main reasons for the tribulation, to bring His people Israel back to Him and all those who are saved during that time. It's just sad knowing that no one has to arrive in Heaven well done if they'd just believe in Him now.

With the entire book of Isiah I could preach the Gospel for a lifetime as it lays it all out, including how it ends.

    Take care and God Bless.

  7. This is very sad because there is no chance for Palestinians now. Israel controlled the water the gas the electric Gaza will be destroyed soon. Think of this people Palestinians can't even travel in their own country this happened to American Indians now called Native Americans and look how few of them there are now.

  8. Hard to imagine that the manufacturers didn't "know" the davit they choose for your cat was inadequate for your dingy 🤔

  9. Yeah, that could have been very bad. Tyresa glad your mind/body reactions or whatever, kept your fingers and hands out of that! Nick, way to have patients and not overreact. Glad it all worked out and IMHO, looks like slightly larger diameter line is needed.

  10. You can solve the dinghy drainage issue with a little bit of padding glued onto the bottom of the stern davit – just the minimum needed to get drainage; if done carefully will look OEM. On risk of inversion, you need to get the sling lifting point just very slightly above the dinghy's center of gravity. If this prevents you from hoisting all the way you can modify the davits with pads or standoffs to get a snug hoist. Even snug, don't forget to put spring lines on that dinghy when you go into rougher weather, some people go belt and suspenders and use belly bands too.

  11. So much fun! Seems you are starting to get things sorted out. Lovely time on the beach. Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers!

  12. Good to see you guys dusting off the “rusty” skills! Even after 50,000nm + I still spin the winch before loading it sometimes – even though it never changes! Keep up the great videos

  13. Wrapped backwards But: Proper Hands when on belay. You had two choices: Tighten your grip and get sucked into the winch or let the line slip through your hands and burn them. Also: A clear path for the line-tail instead of a jumble close to the winch. How about another idea: Instead of relying Only on the Cam-cleat; Wrap the winch so it Always bears the weight; maybe leave the line in the winch teeth or put a second cam After the winch ? Less chafe ?

  14. Seems like you are settling into the cat nicely… I'm sure a new house has its teething issues too… I'd rather be on a new boat off the Thailand coast any day…

  15. New boat are not, sailing can humble ya! we we're raising the main the other day and eventually she stopped …doh! shake out the reef. Still,,, oops, release the mainsheet. Jump the halyard again, uhh the vang. Can't quite get there. Ease the cunnungham!
    Wasn't my best showing.

  16. Hi guys love your video, re your new tender, question, I have the same on my Elba 45, love the luxury of the power tilt, the key start Suski 20HP, the forward looking seat for the two of us, however I am not strong enough to drag it on to the beach (we do have stern wheels) or off the beach, how do you find this can you drag it on and off the beach?? I am now looking to replace the Highfield with the NZ OC330 full carbon.

  17. I'm still really surprised with the tender choice you made. It just seems a bit too big especially with the steering wheel stuff. I thought you'd want to keep it light so it's easy to maneuver, especially when taking it up the beach etc.

Would love to hear on video what the rationale was for choosing that one.

  18. You will continue to learn for a long time on your new boat and that's a good thing. It's your new home and you will try to make it perfect. Trial and error will continue but that's how you learn. You both seem to have loosened up a little and seem to be enjoying life a little less stressful. That's good to see.

  19. Nothing worth doing comes easily. And, pain, whether physical or mental, is weakness leaving the body. You guys are awesome!
