  1. Great vid, i am a Liverpool fan, and this has got to be a troll vid right? Who in their right mind would want this outcome, if you was a fan of Man U. Personally as a lfc fan this is a great result, years more in the mire.🤣

  2. This is a very good video from you Laurence. As a United fan I appreciate the nuance you’ve put into this especially as a Liverpool fan and how you’ve run home with the rightful message that the Glazers cannot be trusted.

  3. The chance for the debt to be wiped out, a new stadium/ training ground to be green lighted and proper money made available for transfers…………. But the Glazers said no……….. We prefer Jim Ratcliffe to buy 25%, keep the debt and continue to let Old Trafford rot?
Manchester United would have been reborn under Sheikh Jassim with a fresh start………… BUT the Glazers didn't want to let go………….. Shows the Glazers don't care about the fans, The history or the lineage of Manchester United……….. They just see pound signs

  4. Why would you sell the club when it’s the gift that keeps on giving, 33% of that 25% share sell goes to the holders . Jim will get 25 % of the glazers get each year. Good business. Not for fans

  5. I hate the greedy, nasty, who do not care about the united fans at all and just out for their greedy self's the GLAZERS with a passion. They have rinsed Manchester United for millions and millions already so the greed is on another level its shocking. They have ruined this club and it's going to get worse until the day they're gone.

Now Jim has jumped in bed with the Glazers, so now another 10-20 miserable years. Jim and Glazers out.

  6. Saddened and in absolute despair at our current and seemingly confirmed future state with this deal. Really appreciate y our unbiased approach given the allegiance to Liverpool. Tough road back for this club.

  7. I like it that man u fans were giving city insults for their success after the big take over, but now are wailing that they didn't get taken over too. 😂😂😂

  8. There is a easy answer to the fan influence question: the 51 % rule. Look at Germany, Sweden, Real Madrid, Barcelona. For Sweden the results aren’t there anymore but the fans (the clubs who are run by the fans since the start of organised league games) stopped VAR (good or bad? depends who you are) from being used in the Swedish top flight. As long as you’re not a part of the ownership structure you’ll never have any real influence other than the same type of buying power you have at the supermarket.

  9. Jim Ratcliffe is the UK'S biggest tax exile. One of the richest Brits in the world, doesn't pay a penny of tax here. A real patriot. But the political options in terms of football ownership in the Prem stink.

  10. Honestly I was terrified of both Manchester clubs being owned by nation states with unlimited wealth. It's bad enough with citeh having a cheat code & knowing that if Jurgen Klopp had that kinda money, he'd turn that good squad into a great squad. Instead of having that one PL title we'd have really given Pep a proper run for his money.

  11. Lawrence, right at the end you said Sir Jim hasn’t done well elsewhere. I don’t like this transaction (Glazers) but is that an objective conclusion? You earlier said good infrastructure had been put in place for Nice and now they are running in second place this season.

  12. Fans really don't care, if they really really wanted change, STOP ENTERING THE STADIUM for as long as it takes, that would force change…but the Glaziers know this will never happen

  13. Shiek jassim net worth 1.1 Billion USD, so how the f*** could he pay so much for mufc…this would be more debt for the club, he was never really a true bidder, just got the world free publicity

  14. SIR RAT MEANS MORE DEBT, DIVIDENDS AND GLAZZERS. TIME TO STOP ALL GAMES. THAT RAT WILL NEVER BUY US. IF HE IS A FAN. LET THE FOOL CLEAR THE DEBT, BUILD A STADIUM AND INVEST THE 1.5 B POUNDS HE HAS COST US FROM QATAR.

  15. The biggest disaster is how readily some long term match going fans seem to be just accepting it as a positive thing.

  16. Thank you for a well nuanced video on this and not joining the ‘get your Norwich scarfs out’ brigade. I’ve said it before as a Utd fan it’s so refreshing in this day and age for opposition fans to put stupid tribalism aside to discuss other team’s glaring issues

  17. I know it might be an unpopular opinion but hypothetical speaking if you look at history most of the time if you want something to change you have to do it by force. If you want a new stadium or training facilities make sure everyone is out of the buildings then tear them down. They will do it when there is no choice.

  18. Why isn't there a better fit and proper owners test?

Well looking in from the outside, it is because British institutions are generally fucking horrible, and sometimes evil?

Britain has a prevailing culture of silencing questions about the higher ups. How else do you think Jimmy Savile quite blatantly ran amok for decades?

I don't mean to bring that man into a football conversation, but he alone is so profoundly instructive about the nature of British institutions, and you'd be naive if you didn't think it transcended to your sports.

You think Italian football is corrupt? At least they're somewhat accountable to eachother after the fact. And yet you could bet your life savings that the corruption in England is comparable to its superior revenue. But you just don't know anything about it because like I said, you're far more inclined to shut up and not upset the higher ups. The corruption in Britain is genuinely wild, you only need to use the City of London as a starting point.

  19. Thank you the most insightful & interesting analysis I have heard This Development is not what is needed for the success of the club in the short term however without success on the pitch the value of the club commercially will be affected
