I’m amazed his wife doesn’t believe him.
If it were left to men, their off time would be largely spent doing absolutely nothing, something most men excel at. However wives generally have very little tolerance for husbands doing nothing. Behind every busy man is a woman putting the fear of god into him about being caught doing nothing. Which is really all he wants. And which is why sport is on TV. It gives him an acceptable excuse for doing nothing.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m watching football” is a much more acceptable answer than the more accurate “nothing!”
