1. Nancygladieux7598 mentioned it already. Dolphins showing the way. In his book "The Long Way", Bernard Moitessier describes after rounding the Horn from west to east and sailing north the wind shifted 90 degrees. He was on selfsteering with a simple windvane. While sleeping his course turned to west heading for land and rocks. Bernard claims in his book dolphins were jumping and tailsplashing waking him up. He checked his compass and realised the danger and reset the sails and vane. True or false? Not sure. Anyway…..I think any sailor should have read this book. Personally, I gave all my books away. Apart from one I did hang on to.

  2. Hi, I just saw this episode on your out of gas issue. I think that maybe the problem is when you sail with less gas, because of the narrow and large design of the tanks the system gets air due to the heel. I own a J105 and it has happened to me more than once.
I live in Chile and have sailed in Chiloe many times but never in winter. It's incredible what you have done.
If you come to the central coast you can stay in Algarrobo, where i would be very pleased in receiving you in our marina where you can have have a very safe and beatiful mooring.

  3. If u let an Diesel engine run dry from fuel starvation – it is not just to fill the tank from a jerrycan and start – you must bleed the system before it can even start, was this a click beit? Anyway i like to follow u up the Chilean channels…

  4. Everywhere you all go in Patagonia it is ruggedly beautiful. Roxy sure had fun stretching her legs and playing. Kate's editing and choice of music was great, and Curtis's narration was excellent. The dolphins were magical. Yall keep having fun, stay warm and stay safe. Bill

  5. As you slowly make passage to the west and north, what sea temps have you been seeing. Will it be cooler or warmer as you break out to the Pacific..?

  6. You guys are awesome. Your adventure is epic. You are showing us places we will likely never see in person and doing it with respect and quiet dignity. So inspiring in so many ways. Thank you.
