Thankyou so much for rescuing my Vessel from the rocks.
I would have to fit that squeeking first thing 🙂 Looking good.
Wouldn’t that screeching in the background make you a little crazy?
Bonjour alan ,
I told you that you would love the increased horse power of your motor when you needed it👍
WOW, what is that INTENSE squeaking we hear below!? Do you have any idea what it's from and are you motivated to do something about it? I would be. There's no way I could put up with that for two years, tens of thousands of miles.
That’s the whale he uses to pull the boat thru the water when there is no wind
Loving these vids, Alan! Thank you. I assume the Tohatsu is a bit noisy? I am looking for a 6hp for my Starwind 22, but I want something easy on the eardrums.
Anyway, I have a question for you. John Vigor says (in one of his books) breaking waves 1/3 of the boat's length can knock it down to 130 degrees. Would you say a huge part of your seaworthiness is the ability to get real-time weather updates enroute? Given your current loading of the boat and you down in the cabin, what did your naval architect compute your AVS would be for Wave Rover?
Another fine video, watched with envy after sitting in an office all day. That Tohatsu is a fine engine. I bet it merely sips petrol too. Best wishes from Wales, Alan.
What is the screeching sound?
As always, so nice! Thank for making these! They keep us forging our own adventures. ❤
Super vid alan…its all about the journey …not the destination👍
You said end of September?
I am interested in your rig. The junk rig seems to have many advantages. I am glad you installed a preventer in the low winds. It worries me in a jibe that your sheets might knock you off deck. I am so impressed with your build and how much thought went into every detail. How is your main hatch working out? Does it latch open? Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
I am sure youre used to it by now but that continual squeeking from the rig would drive me mental.. 🙂
🥶
50 to 70 myself at 2knots .
That noise sounds like main sheet block rubbing shackle.
Another great video – I love watching and learning – glad you used the motor when there was zero wind – no point in just bobbing around – thanks for this Alan! ⛵
A good opportunity to run in the engine and give it a good workout 💪
It was great meeting you Friday night at Hole in the Wall in Chesapeake City, Alan. I'm excited to see more of you adventures
