1. You kids are absolutely amazing! I cannot believe that you accomplished so much while on the hard, even remembering to put on locktight! Bon Voyage and happy sailing!

  2. Great episode ..and a roller coaster as usual! Darcy has to be some kind of engineer ? there doesn't seem to be anything he can't fix 👏
I wasn't aware dirty fuel was such an issue (but do now).
I would like to know more about how you fixed the crack in the mast!
Safe travels ! and thank you for teaching me.
Looking forward to next week's episode 🙌

  3. If you don’t clean the tanks out properly your problem will come back and bite you on bum until you do the job properly. When you fit new zincs to the shaft when you first tighten the zinc tap it with a hammer all over and the re tighten the bolts, do this a couple of times.
You will be amazed at how many more turns of bolts you will get .

  4. That hurricane in Mexico was sure scary! Normally it is best to avoid Mexico during October for that very reason. It wouldn't be a bad idea to avoid crossing the Mexican border until November.

  5. Really enjoyed your latest video. It's good to see you are taking on board the advice being offered.
A couple more bits of possibly helpful advice:
Those fixed 4 blade props of yours are great for motoring but not so great for sailing. They scrub 1 to 2 knots of sailing speed off your boat. A good pair of folding props will make a lot of difference to your sailing progress especially in light winds. The downside is they are expensive and they are more complex. There is another utube couple "sailing with the james's' who have recently installed new folding props. Worth a look if you are interested.
I noted that you put some rope clutches onto your decks. I may be wrong but I think your boat (Prout 50 Quasar?) has balsa cored decks. If it does you don't want any water leaks into the balsa core as it turns the balsa into mush and weakens your deck. The way to avoid this is to overdrill your bolt holes, fill them with epoxy resin then drill the right size bolt hole through the epoxy resin. This seals off the balsa with an epoxy tube which won't leak even if your sikaflex bonding leaks…which it often does on loaded bolt holes.

  6. I’m sensing a significant amount of seamanship maturity as compared to your earlier videos. 👍🏼👍🏼. Good work-great adventure too!

  7. Can pull props off & do at anchor (while having a beer), then propspeed. Sailing with the James’s (Au) just did all the research/purchase, pros/cons, for their cat if interested. Recommend spraying all that new metal driveline (+ pretty much anything else) with Lanolin.
Fishing rod holder (or bit of pipe) for starlink

  8. hey guy, big fan of the journey so far. I had a question for you. i have a old catamaran of my own but the cabling for the inside helm has been removed. im trying to decide if it is worth recomoshing the inside helm.
Do you find you use yours much? thanks 🙂

  9. Dear Sailing Supernova couple
👍👏👏 You achieved a lot and everything seems to work just fine. Congratulations 🎉 2) You must be exhausted/tired because of all the work done in 3 to 4 days.
As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording uploading and sharing.
Best regards, luck and health in particular. To both of you of course.

  10. 👍👌👏 I simply have to mention that I absolutely love 💚 how you say moda, woda and filta (for motor, water and filter). It sounds sooo cute. 2) What? A man reading the/an instruction manual? And even before installing the device? I've never heard of such a weird behaviour. 😁 😉

  11. U should of sanded down ur props and put prop speed on them by the time u haul out again there will be nothing left of those already bad props and I would of put anti foul on to
