3. Haha…. Malaysia, Like Indonesia , you find a lot of great food, just walk in any village and see if you see people sitting outside…. food is relatively cheap unless you look for western food. Nasi Lamak (translated : fat fried rice) is the national dish and its quite reasonable. Langkawi has some up town places as well, but you go to resorts or hotels to find them. Langkawi is a boot different from the main land when it comes to food choice. In my experience it was less good, but there was a place where the big ferry boats arrive, and the food was not too bad. (near the brown wooden eagle ). Have fun. Langkawi has a very high bridge in the mountains, worth visiting (look for "sky" bridge)

9. You mentioned the smell in Malaysia. Before I was retired, I led global IT for a major firm and I had staff in Thailand. As I traveled there frequently, I got used to the smell of the more populated areas of Thailand. I can recall it to this day. For me, the smell was the mix of humidity, mold, auto/scooter/tuk-tuk and other pollution, sewage from open-air sewers, charcoal from all of the street vendors' food, the various floral and plant smells, and the mix of animals that surround you. I miss it. May you continue to love your travels and POST MORE FREQUENTLY.
