Hi
What a grind, no pun intended, this bottom job has been..
❤❤❤❤
My vote on the seachest is the glass tube idea. That sounds like the best long term solution.
Lee’s hat has me cracking me up! 😂😂 ahoy!
Bigger Boat = Bigger Boat Work
Well done Captain and crew! What a massive undertaking. Thanks for sharing!
No specialist either, but i remember seeing a similar vid where they also went back to bare fiberglass, but they had to put a new layer of glass back over for sealing the hull, so my question is a barrier coat enough for protecting the hull? Keep at it and grtz from holland
Lee is not a man to only do half a job, as we've seen previously lots of times and this is no different. I'm not surprised ye have gone the whole hog on redoing your bottom and as Lee said, at least ye'll know it's been done properly!! I feel for ye having to work in that 100+ heat but your pay-off will be substantial!! Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Great idea using the planer. Next get a couple full fave respirators. You could probably buy a wood planer, maybe
is there some reason that you dont have a tshirt with your original logo i love it
It looks like you picked a good place to do your first haul out. Has everything you need. AC place to sleep. Within driving distance of the US. TOO bad about the heat.
Looking good guys. Glad you won the blooper award for the Mahi giving Lee the old slap and tickle minus the tickle. 😂 Hope you had a great time in Annapolis and made a lot of new connections❤
👍
🙏
Congrats on the award 🙂 fish had real good aim lol and its great that you folks are still keeping it real 🙂
Congratulations on winning the award . 🤟 An award for a blooper ( getting the family jewels slapped by a fish ) may not seem like a award you would like to win but I think it's great . I love you guys and always look forward to seeing your videos . The bottom prep is never easy or cheap . The reward will be when you splash and hopefully the bottom job will last for years and will be easy to maintain while cruising .
Not that I know anything , but the Fiberglass tube for the sea chest sounds like a better idea . This may be one of those rare cases when cheaper is better . You will never have to worry about it corroding under the water line that be for sure
!st time ive ever commented twice on your vids but i have to 🙂 Do it right once then never worry it taking the hull down was the right call those inside blisters still had water in them if you had gelled over them same problem would have come back on ya keep up the great work folks
Your Vancouver Island vids take me home. Having grown up in Victoria.
And you are right. Never trust a black bear.
Love your vids. Well done guys.
Great work guys 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Good episode. I hope you guys weathered the storm. My youngest son just turned 21, and bought himself a 35 foot Coronado sailboat…which he intends to fix up and start sailing the world in 🙂
When my boat gets hauled out for bottom paint, they don’t sand it down. They do a thorough pressure wash and any necessary scrapping of hard growth if there is any beyond that, and apply the new paint. Why did you do all of the scrapping and sanding down to the gel coat?
that Total Boat company – bloody champions – and love your high spec – PPE safety boots.
G day guys I would like to see some more glass on that ( Rudder Skeg ) it’s a big blade and a big boat , weather helm it’s the perfect opportunity to do it not much extra time 👍💪💪 all the best stay safe
Hope you survived the hurricane without much damage to the boat.
Keep your eye on the goal! That’s a big project you’ve got there, building a “new foundation”!
Not sure the valve referring to for $1.5k. Can get 3" high pressure poly irrigation valves for <$200. Could replace that whole system with poly for <$1k. Make the whole thing cylindrical tube for extra strength, more compact. No corrosion, less growth issues.
