  1. Great to see you enjoy sailing the Sound of Mull and Inner Hebrides. You didn't mention an amazing true story about the Point of Ardnamurchan. In the late 19th Century a ship sailing up the coast of Canada to Nova Scotia and Labrador was caught in a big storm, with about 90 passengers on board. The storm pushed them way out into the Atlantic, and the winds kept pushing them east. After a few weeks at sea with no idea where they were, they managed to sail past Rum until they saw the light of the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, where they dropped anchor, as they did not have any charts. They did not even know which country they had come to – it could have been Ireland, England or maybe Iceland or Norway. A local boat captain saw them the next morning and recognised it was not a Scottish or European ship, so told the Harbour Master in Tobermory, who went to investigate, and pilot the ship safely into Tobermory. The Canadian passengers were welcomed into the village and stayed with the local people on Mull for another 6 weeks, until a captain from Glasgow who was qualified to sail the ship back to Canada was available. (the Canadian Captain was not qualified to sail back over the ocean). I cannot remember the name of the Canadian ship, or what year this happened but there is more information about this in the museum in Tobermory. Best wishes from Scotland.

  2. "Hi Erik, amazing recordings, they are very professional and you are a super sailor. Have you considered making a TV series with one of the big TV stations, similar to the Beha family in Denmark. That could be a great idea if you want new adventures and the whole Norwegian population will be with you. Good wind from NILS HENRIK WEGENER."

  3. Erik, you never fail to impress. I especially appreciate your no BS drama that most others seem to think that is necessary to attract viewers. Just sailing. Just water borne adventures and beautiful port visits. I look forward to your adventures every Sunday morning while enjoying my coffee and envying your sea faring life. Take care brother and stay safe.

  4. Hi Erik. Great video again. Sailed through the sound of Mull recently. Unfortunately lost my drone . Is it true that drones amd helm navigational equipment do not mix?!!
Your drone shots are brilliant and story editing so good. 🙏🏼

  5. You've reminded me of a wee 4 day cruise I took last year. I was on one of the tiny cruise ships that are moored at Oban Marina. The boat was called Glen Etive. Had the same crazy seas you had along the Sound of Mull and were glad to drop anchor in a wee lochan where we were able to buy mussels. Thanks for reviving the memory.

10:21: ⛵ The speaker is preparing to sail with the Janar downwind to Oban and Fort Williams in the Scottish Highlands, but is concerned about the increasing winds.
16:07: 🌊 The video discusses the importance of being prepared and properly geared while sailing in rough weather conditions.

  7. Maaaaaan, that was unbelievable! Amazing video again, great drone shots. Can't wait to see the next part through Scotland. Congratulations to you for doing this sailing while filming. Unreal…

  8. I live in France and I installed Nord VPN in order to stream and binge watch BBC programmes. Unfortunately the beeb is ahead of the game and after 24 hours of use I found my access restricted. Nord were very good and quick in refunding what I had paid them. This is not a criticism of the company, I’m sure whatever VPN I had opted for I would have had the same problem.

  9. Really this experience is so dated. How dare Eric publish this now and portray this as relevant? He has been here and there joining in with the Hoi poloi and still tries and tell us he is an authentic "viking". Eric… It is over! There are others on YouTube living your professed dream but then delivering. You have opted for commercialism ahead of authentication.

  10. That was fabulous as usual Erik. I loved the trip alongside you. The St Kilda visit was amazing. To think that you follow the Vikings is so very special. Thanks 🙏 again for brilliance x

  11. Really enjoyable to watch, your drone skills in 20-25 knots are seriously impressive. I also liked the facts about the lighthouse construction etc and that you gave the kite a go but sensibly got rid of it before it turned into a mess! Editing is just seamless too, makes it so easy to watch. Keep it up!

  12. Absolutely wonderful content! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures! I'm very pleased that your health seems to have improved! Incredibly inspiring! I'm from Newfoundland, and we have an expression here; 'Long may your big jib draw!' Blessings on your future travels and perhaps you may find your way to our island some day!
