  1. Having a yacht is like being a turtle. You carry your home with you.
How great it is to start a day before my daily bicycle ride and see another great episode. Thanks for that.

  2. Enjoy that peace of mind while you got it. The way this world's going them days and places are going to be hard to get… 🍻🍻🍻

  3. Alfy, that was one of your best episodes to date on Northern Dancer V. She looked so tranquil in that cove, no wonder you stayed an extra night there.
    All the best, Richard

  4. I think all online dictionaries should just link to this video for definitions of "Serenity" and for "Serendipity". A beautiful spirit follows your videos, Alf. Thanks for sharing this episode.

  5. I anchored there last June, solo, so I didn't do a stern tie as well. It was busy then, but I was adjacent to the dinghy dock where there isn't any shore ties. Looks a lot more peaceful in November, nice choice !

  6. Really enjoy the content – thanks. How are you doing the varnishing in such a cold wet environment. The boat I'm purchasing will need some attention and I've been concerned that with out a boat house it wouldn't get done. Hints will be appreciated.

  7. Hello. Thank you for the great videos. Princess Cove is beautiful. I anchored there a few years ago and the wind came in from the NW. Was a little bumpy. Upon departure, my anchor got caught up on the bottom there. Took about 20 minutes to free it up. Last year I anchored just south of there in a very small anchorage, Conover Cove (You can see it on your Navionics screenshot). Room for just 4 or 5 boats. Enter and exit only at high tide. Great protection. Keep the amazing vids coming.

  8. A very nice account of your last stop before home port shot in your quiet, competent manner. We anchored almost in the exact spot in late August and discovered some great trails and kayaking, not to mention the quirky history of the place. We’re ever on the lookout for Northern Dancer as we ply the same waters. Nice job on those hash browns😉

  9. I’m not sure either about the sound. It happens on other videos of yours as though they are on different tracks. Either way, I totally enjoy your travels! Thx!

  10. Please allow me to compliment you on maintaining your beautiful sailboat in excellent condition. As you know, taking care of all that brightwork is a labor of love but it's obvious you truly love her and enjoy taking care of the details that make her the magnificient vessel she is. It's also refreshing to see how clean Northern Dancer is…..another reason to congratulate you on being so dutiful in maintaing her cleanliness. So many YouTube sailor videographers film scenes that clearly show filthy decks, cabins, galleys, and heads…..I won't identify YT channel names here but sometimes I find myself yelling at my computer screen, "Please clean that filthy boat before you hit the record button!" Changing the subject…..It seems you frequently singlehand. While it would be nice to have a companion on board, I bet you, like me, enjoy the peace and quite of being alone. Since my wife is handicapped and unable to even board my boat, I frequently sail singlehanded, which has inspired me to appreaciate being alone. Years ago I was lucky enough to have two sailing friends, who, like me, sailed singlehanded. We were a team, each sailing his own boat either on afternoon or on ten day or longer trips. Unfortunately, both have passed away, leaving a void. It goes without sailing I miss them so much. As for cooking for one, it can be a challenge but like you, I've adapted to it very well…check out my YT video of last May/June…..towards the end I provide a sampling of my menus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZmxWVxqAKs&t=1065s

  11. Hey Alfie for those of us who don't normally make hash browns for breakfast could you share the recipe?
The seasonings you used apart from what I assume was flour don't look familiar to those of us watching from Australia…..
    Thanks Mate

  12. How fantastic that Walace Isl. is available to you as a a short get away spot. I was there about 5 years ago on a trip to the gulf islands out of Bellingham. Princess cove was the highlight of the trip!!
