  1. Congratulations its looking like things are going in your favor. I hope that you are going to be able to fix your boat and that its not as bad as it looks. And thank you for keeping us up to date on your progress. OK I'll see you next week.

  2. Lucky they have sane rules about small gas bottles. Typical for an alternator in use to run at 60C. However, IMHO you need to do some research to find an appropriate High Output heavy duty alternator, with a separate voltage controller. You would also likely change the drive belt as well. That "hitachi like" is only designed to throw a bit of charge into a single 12v battery to make up for starting a car. It is not built to continuously make its rated output to charge a bank of batteries. It will not last very long. A good one is not cheap but will last.

  3. I have always wanted to visit Aruba. You are making me really want to go now. It was so nice seeing Sarah cracking up laughing with all the other marina neighbors. So funny. You two are great. Best of luck with your repairs.

  4. You guess should be fine with that alternator Napa is a high quality auto parts store in America it’s a very competitive market here you should have no problems love pease

  5. Kudos to the two men that helped you out with the gas and the alternator! 👍
Now you know the part number on the new alternator, it can be cross referenced if you ever need to replace it, and probably may even find a bigger one if you need it (more amps) . I would think 63 amps would be enough for what you are doing. I wonder what car it is spec'ed for? Hmmm.
NAPA auto parts is a very major auto parts chain here in America, and quite reputable, no worries there guys. As for it feeling hot, that is pretty normal. Unless its a wiring problem which it isn't, i would not worry about it being warm/hot, unless things are smoking and with sparks and fire! lol You don't get the airflow in your engine bay as a car does, i would think that has a lot to do with the heat you are seeing.
It really sucks that the government isn't really helping you guys with enough time to make repairs, that really sucks. I don't know what your game plan is, but it seems like your maybe going to have to make temporary repairs and get someplace to get pulled out and really repaired properly. That sure changes your plans, what a can of worms. I feel so bad your going though this as you guys have been struggling with other issues and problems prior to this happening. We are in December now, and that's a really crappy Christmas present the universe handed you.
Prayers to you guys, and i hope everything works out and gets better. You guys really need a break from all the bad luck in the worst way.

Be safe guys, hugs and good vibes your way!! 🙏

  6. ❤ you guys,
    about your altenator slipping,…
You need at least washers on either side of the bolt and nut to distribute the load on the tensioning bracket.!nat should help.
Looking forward to your next videos

  7. A faulty battery can place excessive strain on the alternator, causing it to overheat. A weak or dying battery requires the alternator to work harder to maintain the electrical system, leading to increased heat generation.

  8. Good news and bad from Aruba, a very hapy place for me so long ago(1979). The altenator problem sounds easy to fix when diagnosed sound like voltage connector problems, did you remember th re-connect your solar?
Terrible news about the damage to your boat, be strong and be safe while you repair her.

  9. Sarah, we are so happy to see you smiling again after the unfortunate collision. Praying, in your future Aruba will be the key for the necessary repairs so Cuba will sail again. Happy Holiday's!
